I used to stay here a lot for work. It has gone downhill. On arrival, Dante at the check in desk showed no interest and was unhelpful. We had 7 luggage items and were told to go and get the trolley from behind the concierge desk. The staff on our last day were more helpful though. The room had stains all over the carpet. I won’t stay here again, despite staying regularly pre-pandemic.
My wife and I travel to the UK 1-2 times a year and normally stay at the Corus for its value and location. Staff are generally very helpful and professional and it really pains me to give a negative review, but on our most recent stay we had a bag stolen from our room. We reported this to the staff and they assured us they take this very seriously so that is why I’m not rating them as poor. After several years of coming to this hotel, I will be considering another option on our next visit.
Hotel was lovely and staff were really helpful and polite. Everything we needed was available and breakfast was delicious. The location was great, right opposite Hyde Park and wish we could've stayed longer.
We paid to upgrade to an executive room, but were not told it was directly above the service entrance to the hotel. So paid extra to be woken at 6am by extremely noisy delivery people lasting until 7.30am. When we informed reception of this on check out they were less than interested and didn’t offer to refund the upgrade which would have been the decent thing to do.

Poor room
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was good, but the room was a disappointment. We paid extra for a better room, but it really wasn't up to much, not helped by the absence of a tv remote controller and poor facilities in the bathroom. The water heat in the shower could not be adjusted and there was only one tiny bottle of gel and a single tiny piece of soap for two people. The decoration of the room and bathroom left a lot to be desired.
Bus was nearby but the underground was a 15 minute walk. Room was quiet and very, very small. OK for one person. Bathroom was not as clean as could be. I was on the 6th floor and had to wait for the hot water to get up there so would turn on the shower for 5 to 10 minutes before I wanted to get in but then it did get hot!
Such a shame. I used this hotel just as a room to sleep in as I was straight out and then back late at night.
Unfortunately the sink was broken with the plug stuck- I had the lovely pleasure of other people’s pubic hair floating around. Following on from this, there must have been a hole in the window or it might have just been single glazing as it was freezing even with the heating turned up.
I did mention to front desk as I left what a shame it was.

The Corus hotel is in an excellent location for getting on the tube or walking in Hyde park.
The staff quickly dealt with some minor issues.
Kudos to Michael who took an hour out of his working day to help me activate my e-sim card.
Will definitely return this hotel.
Wasn’t a long stay, but the single room was fine if a little careworn. Location is main plus, great being next to the park and close to Oxford Street and transport links. But everything worked and had no major problems. Only issue was the drainage, which was very slow for the shower so was ankle deep in the bathtub after a 5 min shower.
Hotel was in a nice area which was easily accessible but out of the busy streets. Lovely hotel with helpful staff and reasonable prices. Would definitely go again.
We were given a room on the ground floor. The window did not shut properly and the room was damp. The window also was singled glazed and it rattled in the wind.
We moved to a room on the top floor and we moved because it was warmer but the maintenance man turned up with 3 plug in heaters as the air conditioning was not working and there was mould on the pillow cases when we went to go to sleep
This is one very tired hotel. I paid over £300 for one night without breakfast in a business suite. The heating electrical panel did not work and the ceiling outlet which also did AC only blew out cold air. The room was very cold anyway as it was early December. I had to go back down to reception twice in person as there was no phone in the room to call them, even though Reception assured me there was. But the maintenance staff did provide two plug in portable heaters very quickly once I had been down twice to complain. The bathroom was also freezing with no heated towel rail. The hot water did not come through the shower either in the evening or the morning even though I had it running for well over 5 mins beforehand. Luckily, there was a bath for which the hot tap did work. Bedside lamps were dusty and there were stray hairs around. Paintwork was tired and chipped and in good need of freshening up. At this price, I would NOT recommend this hotel. Just because of its situation overlooking Hyde Park they should not be allowed to charge such extortionate prices for such poor quality facilities.

The first night we were in a room overlooking Hyde park and the traffic was very noisy so we asked to be moved to another room . The young man on reception was very obliging and moved us to a much quieter room it was a lot better. The hotel staff were very friendly . The rooms are a bit dated but nice and clean . I would definitely stay there again .

The location, staff and amenities were great.
Very good accessibility to central London with an underground station within 5 minutes walk.
Only let down was some of the room maintenance, I feel the the room was fairly priced and a great size for a family of 4 but seeing loose fittings for shower curtain rails, taps that are poorly fixed and lights that don't work is a bit unacceptable in a hotel of this standard.
All in all we loved our stay and getting the breakfast included is definitely worthwhile.
