Average and small room, great location

Hoek is in a great location near Baker Steer and Marylebone High Street. The hotel Irene is ok The room is very small and seemed to be a coverted cupboard. It backed on to the rear of the hotel and was also impacted by a bright light shining throughout the night which then meant the room didn’t get dark when trying to sleep. Would not recommend this room (4). Check in and out ok.

There was no hot water during my stay and apparently in the whole hotel. There was nothing thay could be done so I had to have a cold shower. The room was very run down and overpriced. Wouldn't ever stay again even if there was hot water.

Excellent location, helpful staff, great breakfast

Location is fantastic - so many restaurants and shops nearby with bus and tube transit close, but hotel is off on a quiet street that's safe with easy access. Nice staff, and always someone at the front desk. Breakfast was great - had dairy free soy and oat milks - thank you! - plus fried and boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, toast, salami, cheese, 5 cereals, vegan cheese I think, coffee/latte/cappuccino machine, teas, croissants, muffins, yoghurt I think, fresh fruit, and probably more...left full every day. Room was good...plenty of cupboard storage but wish there had been towel hooks/racks. Beds were very firm but pillows were fluffy and nice. Eco-friendly with the room key powering the room and cool that they have a fridge and microwave, but having a fridge defeats the purpose if it's powered off all day while you're sightseeing - food definitely didn't keep - wish the fridge could stay powered. Lift/elevator was usually quick. Housekeeping was good about refreshing towels and water but we had to ask for coffee, cups, and TP a couple times during our stay. Any issue that came up, staff was quick and happy to address. Loved the hotel robes provided. Hotel is small but has what you need. I'd stay here again.

My room was on the ground floor with a fire escape and emergency door to outside so I did not feel very safe. The room itself was clean but super tiny. The bed went from one wall to the other and then there was a little room on each side but you have to crawl over the bed to get to the other side. There was no luggage rack and the bathroom was so small that there were no shelves or counter space in the bathroom so the towels were on the bed. They didn’t have Kleenex/facial tissues. The neighborhood is fantastic so that makes up for some of the price.

Before I even checked in, I had an excellent experience working with Jyothika, a gracious, super-competent front desk (and probably more) employee. She helped me navigate a complicated schedule for a friend and myself with expertise and grace. And (quite contrary to the corporate-type hotel I was coming from), took the time to write me a detailed email outlining all prices, specific requests, etc. She's a gem!

The hotel is in a perfect walkable area and its right across from the baker st stop. The neighborhood is safe and walkable for shopping and tons of restaurants. The room space is small but doable if you are only there to sleep and go but it was hard to open our medium size luggage for the three of us. Needs a little updating and towels you need to ask for extra because the shower does tend to leak water. Cleanliness is good but expected it to be better for a 4 start hotel. The first couple of times our towels had a moldy smell to them which we had to request for new towels. Overall I would give this hotel a 4/5 stars, I would say 3 stars but the girl at the reception was amazing so she gets that whole star for herself.

We had a lovely stay at the Blandford. The staff were very helpful especially JYOTHIKA, nothing was ever to much trouble. Our room was very small which we are not used to, but is standard for London and for the area we were in Marylebone. The room was kept exceptionally clean by the cleaning staff. I would definitely stay here again, it was so central, 2 min walk to the tube, lots of buses and we were surround by eating places both lovely restaurants and cheap eating places. It was a great 16 days.
