The Neighborhood:
South Kensington is such an exciting part of London - so much to explore here and in the surrounding areas.
You are under a 10 minute walk from Exhibition Road, where you’ll find the famous Natural History Museum, the V&A, and the Science Museum, and the iconic Royal Albert Hall is just around the corner.
The Admiral Codrington is a popular pub with locals. As well as a fun atmosphere and an outdoor area, the food here is delicious. Try the burger!
For an unpretentious, proper English pub, head to the Devonshire Arms. Only a 15 minute walk from the apartment, you’ll find a great selection of beers, traditional English food, and open log fires in the colder months. The Anglesea Arms is a classic British affair, frequented by Charles Dickens in his day!
You aren’t short of options for restaurants either… Tendido Cero and Cambio de Tercio are sister restaurants on opposite sides of Old Brompton Road. Tendido Cero is a casual tapas bar, with delicious Spanish food and a buzzing atmosphere. Cambio de Tercio has more of a traditional restaurant feel to it and the food, also Spanish, is just as good! Worth booking.
The Bombay Brasserie in Gloucester Road is a renowned and highly-rated Indian restaurant with a skylit conservatory. Very good food.
Nearby Bumpkin, on Old Brompton Road, is a lovely place to go for drinks, lunch, or dinner. The menu changes regularly but is always delicious and has a family-friendly atmosphere.
For Pizza, you can’t go wrong with Franco Manca - just a stone’s throw away.
Open every Saturday between 9am and 2pm, the Bute Street Farmers’ Market is literally on your doorstep! Pop downstairs to explore the 18 stalls - you’ll find seasonal and fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. A great place to grab ingredients for lunch!
