Great stay.

A rough start at check in, as the previous occupants had not checked out and the room wasn’t ready. It looks good on paper, letting you stay a full 24 hours but in practice it doesn’t always work out. There’s a reason the whole hotel industry has several hours between check out and new check ins. That being said, the staff went above and beyond getting us in our room with a complimentary gift basket of snacks and drinks for our inconvenience. The live entertainment in the lobby/lounge was wonderful. The singer was very talented and not too loud for the limited space.

The property was OK, could be better for the price. But we felt very disappointed that we left a bags with new leggings and panties at the nightstand and when we called 3 days later they said they did not find it an that it was too late to claim. One week later as we were in the Cotswold's for a week, my friend went to speak to the Hotel security about this incident as she use to work in Hospitality ad the head of security was super rude and said we wait too much to report it. In other words, be aware if you left something behind, is theirs!

Long family weekend at The Thistle Marble Arch.

From the moment we got to the hotel, which was situated in a fantastic location, everything was fantastic. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bedroom was divided into two with a seperate seating area with a soda bed, which our daughter used. It had a fridge, microwave and sink for prepairing snacks etc. a coffee machine with coffee pods, there was a kettle with teas and hot chocolate in a cupboard and a complimentary mini bar with beer, wine and water. The bedroom and seating area both had a TV on the wall, with Youtube and the usual channels but also had an HDMI input easily accessible so you could stream content from a phone or tablet very easily. Lots of USB ports dotted around the two rooms, and at least one set of, UK, US and European plug sockets on the wall. There is a buffet breakfast in the restaurant and the lifts can get quite busy at this time of the day, but it's worth it as there is a fantastic choice of food, both hot and cold and omelettes cooked to order. All in all, an amazing hotel, with great staff and amenities in a fantastic location.

Overbooked but successful!

The hotel we booked was overbooked when we checked in so the manager said they had moved us to their other hotel The Cumberland. She said we wouldn’t be disappointed and we wasn’t! We had interconnected rooms instead of a family room which was a lot better for us as we were 3 adults. The hotel was brighter and had a very good feel from the moment we arrived. They also gave us a free breakfast

Like most European hotels, you have to divide the claimed Star Level by 2 to compare with US hotels. The quality of the room was poor considering it claims to be a 4 star hotel. Stains and warn out carpet. Dried vomit stain on bedskirt. Marks on the wall. A mattress that feels like the floor. The food was ok quality and the staff tried really hard, but it's hard to overlook the high price paid for such a poor quality property.

Busy hotel in the hustle and bustle of London. A convenient place to stay before or after events in Hyde Park. The hotel felt like is was geared for large number of guests and did not feel personal. Would only stay again if going to events at Hyde Park. If coming for a trip in London, I would stay in a less busy and prettier area.

For the price we paid, honestly speaking it was not worth it. If you're looking for location then i would recommend it, but only for that reason. We booked the executive twin room with sofa bed. We told housekeeping that the sofa bed was not comfortable and simply asked for a mattress topper and we're told flat out no. We asked for another blanket at least so we could double it up and sleep on it on top of the sofa bed. She said she would check and never came back. We ended up having to make a bed out of the chair cushions and take turns sleeping on it. The pad on the sofa bed was a worn out 1/2" pad and we could feel all the wires and rods on the sofa. I don't believe we were being unreasonable by asking for a mattress topper or an extra blanket. The breakfast, sorry to say was dreadful. I'm not sure how it got so many positive reviews, but it was horrendous. The fruit was not fresh, the omletes were way too oily to the point where oil would just do it everytime you cut into them. The "bacon" which was actually ham slices was salty. The sausage, I'm not sure what kind of sausage that was but it was grainy. I will say that aside from the housekeeper that we met the first day, the rest of the staff was great residual Tony who assisted with our bags and Augustina who assisted us at breakfast. They checked on us during our entire stay. The location of the hotel is prime. All transport, tour busses, shopping and dining in walking distance.
