Great for non fuss solo travel. Needed a place close for a work trip in Leeds. Liked that there is plenty of parking, it was quiet and very safe. Lovely grounds to go for a walk. No kettle in the room, but they have a lounge area with a coffee machine. Everything was pretty basic; don’t expect frills. But for the price, it was great.
The setting and the building are lovely. The room was clean, simple and reasonably priced. It had everything we needed for a one night stay. I loved that kettles etc were not in rooms but in a central lounge area and that the dining room had larger tables to encourage sharing and meeting others if wanted. The breakfast offered lots of choice. The cooked breakfast was fabulous and the coffee very good. We popped to see the chapel and we’re invited by the priest, to stay for mass. It was a peaceful end to a successful stay.
Stayed here for cricket at Headingley, only 15 minute walk away. Rooms are fairly basic but comfortable, with a good shower, and immaculately clean. Breakfast is very good and the staff are lovely, particularly Carol on reception. Probably not the place for a long stay but for a couple of nights it's excellent.

The ladies on the reception were lovely and made you feel welcome.
Complimentary drinks were available downstairs and in the shared kitchen upstairs.
The room was tired although looked as though it had a fresh lick of paint.
The shower was nice and warm but the water didn’t drain away quick enough so you stood in your dirty water. You had to wait for the water to drain and wash your feet again.
The breakfast was good and plenty of choice, although a lot of shouting from the kitchen staff when we entered. We assume there must have been a disagreement.
Okay for a one night stop, wouldn’t be good for any more days.
Service was excellent, breakfast was lovely. Beautiful surroundings and location. Really quiet, bed was really really hard to the point of being uncomfortable and i like a firm bed.
Love this hotel with great location close to Headingley and Leeds university. The hotel is Grade II listed and has a grand exterior, but inside is quite basic. Everywhere was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and cheekily asked if we could check in early if our room was available. The receptionist went above and beyond to allow this to happen and get our stay off to an excellent start.
Bedrooms do not have a hospitality tray, so the hotel offers free hot drinks and biscuits in the coffee lounge. There are also kitchenettes on each floor where hot drinks can be prepared.
Breakfast was included and was a great start to the day. A good variety of fruit, yogurt, cereal and hot food was available as well as juice and hot drinks in the self service dining room.
All in all we had a good stay and would definitely use this hotel again when visiting Leeds.

Not what i was expecting
What a fabulous looking building.
However, it is a Christian education / conference centre which came as quite a surprise.
Service was direct and professional, self service breakfast was good there just seemed to be an atmosphere that i can't put my finger on. It wasn't as if it felt unfriendly, just felt like being in a public library with everything a little muted.
