Beautiful hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The only caveat (which stopped us from awarding 5 stars) was the eco option for room service. If you opt for eco room service this means that the beds aren’t made nor towels changed but you should still get daily complimentary water and toilet rolls. Each day our room was missed and each day we had to go to reception to ask for water. Other than that a great place to stay.

The welcome from the the Receptionist was excellent ensured we had a suitable room to meet our needs. Hotel room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The room was heated individually, controlled in the room. Breakfast was excellent lots of hot and cold choices. Highly recommend especially due to the onsite parking which is a bonus in York. All the staff are very polite and friendly.

The room was gorgeous and the hotel is beautiful. The negative was we had a faulty air conditioning unit running under our window all night which disrupted sleep, disappointingly the young girl on reception made me feel that it was just us and tried to tell us there was nothing there even though the night staff knew straight away what it was when I rang down to see if they could do anything at 1am. We were refunded £15 car park but I did walk away feeling a little dismissed and disappointed.

I came with my friend to celebrate her special Birthday. Couldn’t fault anything. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was amazing and our room was comfortable, especially our beds!!!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel du Vin. It’s in a good location and walkable to city centre in 12-15 mins. A big bonus is the car park though it is charged at £15 per night, that is reasonable for York. We upgraded to the suite on the top floor and it was spacious and comfortable. The roll top bath was a treat and the shower was enormous! The evening meal was good and priced reasonable. Breakfast was also good and service excellent. We would definitely return if we visit York again.

Overall good hotel, room was really nice but there as arent any heaters in the the room so the aircon fan is being used as a heater. I sleep with earplugs so it was fine, however the fan would distrub most of thr light sleepers. We stayed on half board basis, food was nice however compared to other Hotel du vin branches we stayed at ( Harrogate for example) it wasn't as nice. Also cocktails at the bar were avarage. Overal- nice stay but we both agreed we wouldn't be back.
