Relaxing getaway.

Great stay, good walking distance from hotel to city centre 40minutes but a nice walk, decor in room was alittle dated but nice size room and nice options of pubs near by for dinner aswell as restraunt on site for food. Lovely stay overall and staff helpful

Hotel did not respond to messages we sent through Expedia. The bath was slippy on entry/exit to use the shower. A notice warning you of this on the wall is not sufficient and the management should fix the problem. The breakfast bacon was like cardboard. Finally, we could hear clearly other guests conversation through the walls at night.

Room was good and great shower. Mattress was too springy for me . I was travelling alone , they gave me a room with double bed , then a sofa bed that was left fully open , as if I was expecting a total of 4 .

Stay here regularly- convenient transport to York centre nearby- restaurant & reception areas recently refurbished. Breakfast always very good. Don’t usually have any problems however on this occasion there was no soap in the dispensers in the bathroom only shampoo- didn’t find out until actually in shower- also only a couple of tissues in the tissue dispenser. Contacted reception and these were rectified a while later.

Early check-in and a good nights sleep

I arrived at the hotel earlier than the check-in time as I wanted to park my car before heading off to my engagement. The receptionist was able to book me into a room early which was really useful. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. I found it a bit of a tight squeeze in the bathroom to open the door, go inside and close the door behind me, however the facilities were as you'd expect them to be. As my visit was towards the end of november, the room was chilly when i returned. There were clear instructions next to the air conditioning that this was to be used for cooling the room and that to heat the room you needed to use the thermostat on the radiator. I haven't seen that in hotels I've stayed at before. I didn't have any complaints about noise in the hotel and I had a good nights sleep, something that rarely happens for me when staying in a hotel.

Average room. Very small double bed and lumpy pillows did not sleep well at all. Noisy heating/air conditioning unit. Could not get temperature right in room very hot when it was minus temperature outside.

A nice hotel in a good location.

Free parking with plenty of space. Good location. Friendly welcoming staff. Nice bedroom with good shelving and wardrobe space and it was warm and cosy. Only negative point was the bathroom which was tiny. Hardly room to turn round or dry yourself. Overall I would recommend the hotel but have to grade it good rather than excellent.

Tv very basic. Hardly any channels. The heating forr the room can not be changed ,its one setting. Hardly any milf or teabags , coffee. Not worth wot was paid fore one night.

It was something different the billing down stairs was nice bed rooms could do with doing up bed was not comfortable and on first morning the breakfast was very cold did tell them but thay said thay had group of over 100 people but then on the 2 morning thay was very busy so didn't get much breakfast

OK for a business overnight but not comfortable

bed small for a double and uncomfortable - pillows very clumpy/lumpy. room very hot and bathroom (Shower only) TINY. Only there for an overnight for business - did not use restaurant as too expensive.

Poor hotel

Poor hotel. Bathroom was filthy. Bath plug has hair and dirt all in it. Got put in a double room and it was two single beds together. And would separate if you went near the middle. Mattress was also springy and uncomfortable. Room was next to a fire door and it just squeaked when someone walked though. Radiator kept banging all night aswell. Ended up leaving a day early as such poor sleep.

We have been going to this hotel fir about 20 years. The new refurbishment of the reception bar and restaraunt is fabulous. However' the rooms are in need of the same. They are now tired and in poor state.
