Misleading advertising spa hotel

We chose this hotel in particular as it has a pool and we wanted that spa experience to have a little relax and chill out time but what they don’t tell you is that you have to pay £10 extra per person each time you use it. So kind of ruined the main reason we chose this hotel. I’ve checked even if I booked today and they still do not mention this. Very misleading.

Just a bit of a disappointment

Positives were location, the bed was super comfy, the air con was brilliant (not noisy and worked), very clean and no waiting about for service as well as a decent breakfast. Downsides were, the shower did not get hot or close to warm, mentioned this on checkout and it was noted down - wasn't after a discount or anything but not even a sorry. I don't think there was any malice or anything just more the fact that some of the staff didn't seem to register that it was an issue. The staff we're not bad but lacked a awareness. The hotel too, although not bad but rather dated in the rooms, 90's, I think we just expected more. The service / shower combo is the primary reason for the 3* review.

It’s a lovely hotel but we booked it for the pool and it doesn’t make it clear at any point during booking that there’s a £10 charge to use the pool. I’ve never been charged to use a hotel pool when you’re staying there before. Other than that it’s a nice hotel in a great location.

Overall great hotel

I’ve stayed here a couple of times in recent weeks. The location is fantastic. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. I’ve had two different rooms - both much larger than your average double room, only difference seemingly between privilege and “standard” rooms being the size of the TV and slightly larger bed. Nice to have both a shower and bath (separate). Very good value for money especially given the access to a proper gym.

hotel room decor is a bit dated. the spa / pool was an extra and facilities poor. the guest lockers are in the sauna area, most are broken and its so dark you cant see the combination locks! location is great, there are nice hotels next door and opposite the square. would not rush back

Would have been better if had own parking. Also, on the directions ..to recommend driving to the car park and walk. Around the hotel is all pedestrianised so you can’t even drive up to it to unload your car unless you know the area well.
