Stayed for one night as a quick trip to visit Miami Beach and go to Miami Heat game with family of 4 (2 kids 12,15yo). Had a 2 x queen room. The hotel is in a very convenient location only a 5min walk to the beach and near lots of eateries and shopping. Staff were friendly. Room was small for 4 people - but adequate for a couple of nights. Definitely rates for convenience!!

Hotel was great, room was small, but nice, clean and comfortable. The location was great if you're taking the key west bus only a block or so away, and plenty of restaurants and bars to walk to very quickly. Only complaints, the AC is a wall unit and super loud, but kept the room very cool. The shower is nice, but took forever to get any hot water and never really got hot, just warm. Parking is tough (really for anywhere in Miami), only option is valet at $42/day. Service was excellent, and the hotel has some cute little lounge areas.

Worst and dirtiest hotel ever!
Worst stay ever! So gross! The room was covered with dirts everywhere. They never clean the room. There are lots of dirts in layers on the chandelier, lamps, baseboards and everywhere else. There is no exhaust fan in bathroom, making the whole room very humid all the time. The fan smells so bad because they never change the filter. We all got coughs when staying inside due to the very bad air quality and first. And, there is no shower door in the bathroom! Seriously? Yes! No shower door!!!

I booked this hotel last minute to attend Art Basel. Although there was a wait to check-in, it was expected because of the art festival. I've stayed at other hotels on South Beach during Miami Art Week / Art Basel, but this hotel overdelivered. Here is why: 1. Front desk staff are welcoming, attentive, and helpful. They always greeted me when I entered the lobby. Extra points to Kathy, Norman, Noah and Jhostyn for accommodating my late night requests. 2. As I waited to check-in, Rodrigo offered me complimentary champagne, I drank a few glasses. I had a business colleague visit me during my stay, and he offered her some bubbly as well. Very thoughtful. 3. Once I checked in, I headed to my room. A very friendly maid, guided me to my room and helped me with my luggage. 4. Hotel has 2 to 3 staff members at the front desk 24/7. I felt very safe traveling as a single woman. 5. Although I use Ubers, the valet attendant Armando was very attentive and helpful. He helped me with several heavy boxes I needed to transport. 6. Room was small, but I did not mind because it was just me. The room was very clean and smelled good. 7. There are 2 restaurants on-site (Maxine's and Taco Taco). The taco place, which is right next door, has friendly staff, good food, and is affordable. Maxine's is good too. 8. The art work exhibited throughout the hotel are from local artists 9. For starters when you walk into the room, there’s barely anything aesthetically pleasing about it. The curtain shades were broken and missing a few rows to completely block out the sunlight. The WiFi does not work even if you speak with the front desk there’s nothing they can do so aside from no WiFi, I couldn’t even use the tv to play music or watch a movie. Then walking into the bathroom there was a piece of flooring that just felt like you were gonna jab your toes cause every step you take on top of it, meant that the floor was sinking. Finally to top it off, most if not all, doors slam. The walls also must be extremely thin because I could hear the people next to me screaming and speaking loudly in the night time and morning! Overall not a great experience.

I always stay at the Catalina whenever I come to Miami. This trip was extra special as I was celebrating my 10 year wedding anniversary. Kathy at the front desk, surprised me and my husband with a bottle of champagne and a cheese tray as well as she let us check in early with no charge. Kathy and Steven went above and beyond.

The worst hotel in Miami Beach
The worst hotel I ever stayed in that didn’t even have a trash can. No coffee. Room right above taco place and music all night. No one answers front desk and they wouldn’t move me to a higher floor or room away from the music. The worst experience I ever had.

No hot water our first night which they did not have the capacity to address until the following day. Also much too much fragrance in the lobby as well as all over the hotel. Only upside was the location.
