Really enjoyable stay
Really enjoyable short break at the somerset hotel. The room was lovely and clean the staff were excellent also you couldnt have asked for a better location. There was also entertainment at night which a lot of hotels dont offer. The only negative was the noisy seagulls but they cant be blamed for that would definitely stay again.

Hit and miss
Location is perfect. However our room didn’t look like it had been cleaned (particularly the bathroom) there was a bag full of rubbish still inside and dust/ hair in the toilet area. We were offered another room but Unfortunately it wasn’t big enough for three.

Car park is no where near big enough for the hotel so be prepared to pay for parking. Checkin couldn’t find my reservation waited for 20 min to be told it’s hotels.com fault as they hadn’t provided a name. Was refused breakfast even though my booking clearly says breakfast included telling me Hotels.com take money for breakfast but don’t pass it on to them. Awful experience.

Needs improvement
Arrived on 27.8.2020 checking in was fine although the car park was extremely full so you had to park on the main road for £5 a day! Although after 4pm it’s free parking. Hotel room was FREEZING! due to the high winds the window rattled in the window frame which was taped with duck tape to stop the draft! (Which didn’t work) Wall heater didn’t work due to being on a timer. The pillows, towels and bed sheet smelt like they hadn’t been washed! Yet when I complained I was told they get put through the washing machine 3 times! The walls had patches of wallpaper missing and had Staines of coffee. Misleading information when booking as mentions free parking, free WiFi and housekeeping. None of these was offered to us yet you walk across the beach and you pick up the hotels WiFi! (Bonus) Upon speaking to the manager of the hotel I explained we need to move rooms due to my health condition, all she could offer was a plug in heather and if they have no shows we could move yet, we wasn’t informed if we could or couldn’t move they left us to it. Wouldn’t recommended this hotel to anyone and we certainly won’t be booking our next visit with this hotel.

The hotel seems quite old and it’s clientele seem to be mainly coach parties of pensioners, upon check-in I was asked to pay for the room in full despite the rate being already pre-paid. There is no wifi in the rooms which doesn’t seem to be in accordance with what they advertised. Also, my room looked much smaller than the rooms used in the photographs but I was grateful to be given a sea view.
