The Anchor is a village pub with some rooms at the back. We were in "Lavers" which, I suspect, is the smallest room but perfectly fine for the two of us. The room itself was immaculate, clean with good quality fittings and views over open countryside. We only had a small shower room but again well appointed.
Breakfast is do-it-yourself with a toaster and kettle in the room but there was fresh orange, bottled water, butter and milk ( real milk, not UHT) in the fridge, and cereals, bread and a selection of jams provided so it was perfectly fine.
Food is served either in the lounge or a separate dining room and is excellent. We had a Sunday lunch which was delicious.
The only negatives I would mention is if you have children they're not allowed in the bar or lounge. Also unless there are ground floor rooms which I didn't see, the rooms are accessed by a flight of fairly steep outside steps so not great for anyone with mobility problems. That aside it's a lovely pub and certainly worth a try.
