We stayed in room 120, it was a typical warm Summers night necessitating aircon cooling, the aircon unit was very noisey keeping us awake, having turned aircon off because of that, we were kept awake by amorous activity in the next room - the walls are very thin!

The Aircon didn’t work The lifts weren’t great No amenities in the room and nothing available when requested. The sofa bed should’ve had a thicker mattress. Were given 2 large towels for a family of 4. The room was very very dark. The breakfast wasn’t great and the Carpark was awful. Location was good but otherwise, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Air con was broken which we wasn't made aware of before we arrived, when Mentioned it we was told we either moved to a tiny room or just put up with it, We later spoke and they then had no rooms available to move. We was given 30% refund however we still had a terrible night's sleep as it was absolutely roasting. If we're paying 190 pound to get a good night's sleep and get no sleep that isn't good enough.. Also noticed bed sheets were filthy underneath as can see in photo. Hotel itself lovely but was really let down by maintenance and cleanliness..

Fresh and modern
It was a nice clean modern hotel. Had a nice large comfortable bed with good facilities. The only thing I felt it lacked was a chair. The bed was quite high so it wasn't easy to sit on to put on your shoes. But overall very good.

Key issue - staff attitude. Rude encounter on the phone when asking for a cot, told 'no' when they were available. Staff not bothered when we reported air con issue. Staff did bare minimum re bed sheet and we had to remake bed ourselves. Room in need of TLC. Loud air con machine even when off. Lift had no lights and was pitch black. Poor access in and out for pram (and therefore wheelchairs). Bed sheet does not cover mattress - exposed mattress for last ft of the bed.

Nice room, great bed, good for the price.
The Grand is always a good bet, and decent for the price. That said, I paid for a "Privilege room" upgrade, but was surprised at the room I got, which still didn't have a separate desk space or proper table to work at, just a shelf under the TV which was not ideal, and the room was smaller than expected. For a "recently refurbished" room the furniture was rather shabby and sparse, but the bed was huge and comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and fairly quiet. The room was at the end of a corridor which seemed to be next to areas still being stripped and rebuilt, but nonetheless quiet overnight. I'd stsy again for sure but wouldn't bother upgrading!

Disappointing and hot
We’ve stayed here many times and it has been great, but this time is was not good at all. After waiting for over 20 minutes to check in, we were greeted by an obviously bored and sullen receptionist. Having got to our room, it was like a sauna. We were exhausted and hot and spent 25 minutes trying to phone down to reception. I gave up and went downstairs to reception only to be told that the manager was ‘somewhere’ and couldn’t be contacted because he’d left his mobile phone behind. Nearly 30 mins later, the manager turned up and agreeably arranged for us to change room. Well, the aircon worked, but it was a smaller bed and smaller room. The receptionist was utterly miserable throughout our whole stay and I heard other guests complaining about him as well. I’m really not sure that we would go back.
