Safe and clean weekend away as a single mum of two

Lovely weekend break with my two kids , one teen ager and one todler. Both of them loved the family room with two king size beds. All was spotless everyone in reception was super helpful. One of the evening i could not make the heating to work and straight away the receptionist fixed the issue. The room are soundproof giving you a peaceful enviroment to chill in ! The buffet breakfast superb all cooked fresh, tasty amazing. All the staff smiley and friendly. I loved the lobby. The location right in front of the sea and peer so wonderful !!! Walkable from the train station with two kids at 9 pm and felt safe, but called a taxi to go back and it was only £7 Thank you Leonardo Royal Brighton we will be back ♡ Ps. Only improvement the swimmingpool water a bit too chilly , for non swimmers :)

Easy t9 check in, easy to find the amenities and room. Liked that in the room there was a coffe machine (but flavoured pods and a big no no to me...just wanted a normal coffee!!), extra glasses i.e wine glasses and timblers...nice touch. The shower screens rubber stopper at the bottom was easily pulled off by my youngest and it was vile with grime and mould..this need a proper clean. The main bed infront of the tv i found very hard and had to swap with one of my children. Our room was on the first floor over look the rear entrance which panicked me a little with noise of the public late night /early morning but we never heard a thing. We used the pool with our children but found it a little frowned apon that the kids wanted to play in the water by the other guest.the tiles around the pool were very slippery and it was dirty too. Other than the items above, we enjoyes our stay, location is great and all areas are accessible with a stroller.

Lovely reception staff

The lovely reception gentleman couldn’t be more helpful. When my key card wouldn’t work he offered to take my rucksack and come to the room with me, I was so grateful as he must have been busy. He directed me to where to get coffee.

Hotel in great central location for Brighton Lanes. Parking is £29 per night in a public car park beneath hotel (£42 regular charge per day). Unfortunately the lift was not working when we arrived but no offer of help with bags from reception staff despite me telling them my partner had mobility issues. We arrived earlier than checkin time which wasn’t particularly a problem except I needed to change my clothes prior to heading out. I was in discussion with reception staff when the concierge decided to contribute and his attitude was nothing short of rude because I couldn’t accept his proposal of using a toilet to change. Breakfast had the regular choice but there was a shortage of freshly prepared ingredients - a skin had formed on the fried eggs, generally it was poor quality and there was also a problem with a shortage of cutlery. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant. Bedroom was well presented. It was on a different level of cleanliness to the public areas which were grubby, especially the carpet. Outdoor areas were neglected and not welcoming. The fragrance blowing from an automated machine in public areas was sweet and nauseating. Brighton is a great town and we generally enjoyed our short break there.

Amazing hotel, the staff went above and beyond to make the stay special. The hotel doesn’t look much from outside but when you get into the lobby you see how lovely it is! We stayed in the penthouse suite which was big, clean and the hotel smelt lovely throughout!
