This place is perfect if you’re going to get on a cruise ship. The hotel was very nice, but the rooms were a bit old and shabby. The staff was terrific, and the dining areas were good.

The closeness to old town was excellent as was the concierge in ordering us a taxi back to Southampton cruise terminal. Food was ok—breakfast bought adequate, but restaurant quite expensive. Bar outside offered quicker service though price still higher than I anticipated.

Was in a suite but was certainly not worth the £415 I paid for it. Wardrobe doors in main bedroom did not meet due to a poor repair completed with two visible bolts. Base of bathroom mirror peeling off. Chrome coming off bathroom fittings. Paint to balcony areas peeling away. Crumbs down side of chair. Overall shoddy and disappointing. However, breakfast (and dinner night before), was good. Good, welcoming and friendly staff. Will I go back - NO
