Bed was uncomfortable and you have to wait to be let in past 11pm. It doesn’t have a 24hr front desk. It’s okay for a one night stay but not for a holiday for comfort

Liked: Staff & service
My single room, was larger, than the average one's, that I have experenced in the past, very comfortable bed. and good storage space, also had a bath, which is unusual for a single room.
The hotel itself, felt a little run down.
Everything and everyone was amazing. So kind and respectful. NOTHING was to much trouble
A few shops open but most closed. Lot's of street renovation going on so most thing's borded up. Temporary pedestrian crossing so difficult to cross the road. The hotel didn't have street appeal as it badly wanted painting. As you will see from the photo the windows need attention as frames rotted and sash windows wouldn't open full as the room was hot with not enough ventilation APART from that all good. Own big car park BUT was charged £6 per day which in my opinion should be free.

The Hotel was very welcoming, the staff were very friendly & the Hotels Pet friendly too which was lovely.
You’re central to the town the seafront and the pier. I Would happily stay again on my next visit to Eastbourne
Lovely hotel, no its not perfect but its a Victorian building so obviously its old but has great character. The rooms are fairly modern with flat screen tv, comfy beds and up to date bathrooms. We stayed in a sea view twin room had no problems. Staff were happy to help, if you run out of anything in the room just ask and they give it to you. Bar staff lovely and chatty. Drinks and food in bar are good and reasonably priced, i was shocked at how they matched a regular pub, hotels usually rip you off. The breakfast is buffet style and lovely although didn't seem to do fried eggs only scrambled. If i was to come to Eastbourne again i would definitely stay at this hotel.
Stayed previously in a single room which looks nothing like the photos. Room was dirty, mattress old and poor springs, bathroom was not fit for purpose - the sink was so small that every time I bend I would hit my head on the glass shelve above the sink. Shower was rusty and water would leak onto the floor.
So asked if I could have a room with a shower cubicle which they kindly upgraded me to a double room. This room was still dirty and stains on the carpet but more spacious, mattress only OK but a better bathroom. I could manage in this room. No servicing of rooms done.
Had to extend my stay due work and asked reception if I could have the same room. Initially receptionist said “yes I will do that”. Then next day receptionist called to say I would need to move to another room since I had booked a single room. Advised her that I booked the same as previous and they gave me this better room. She said “OK I will look into it, check and I shall get back to you”. Receptionist never got back to me the previous day and the next day at 11.00am when I had left the hotel, she rang. Told me that I had to move from the room.
I told her I have no problems moving room but I would need to travel back to the hotel. She then stated she can move my stuff to the other room for me. So I came back to the hotel to be told by another receptionist my other room was not ready for at least 3 hrs but I had to remove my stuff. LEFT THE HOTEL DISGUSTED, DIDN’T EVEN GET A REFUND FOR 6 NIGHTS NOT USED.
Room was dirty, old mattress with bad springs and bathroom unfit for purpose (sink was so small you would bang your head every time on the glass shelve when bending over, shower rusted and water on the bathroom floor after use).
Had a fabulous stay at the Burlington Hotel.
Very convenient, opposite the pier.
Great for my disabled companion.
Staff very friendly, especially Lewie
in the restaurant.
Looking forward to staying again in the future.
Hotel located was excellent, hotel was very dated, rooms need a good bit of TLC ,everywhere needed painting and decorating, bad smell in corridor, every morning would hesr so humming noise through walls about 6am,parking was a bonus but overall would not return.
This hotel is an older property probably built around the late 19th century. I liked the period decor especially in the dining room as it is spacious. The meals are good value and I consider worth considering if you stay here. Our room had a sea view and there was plenty of space. The bathroom/toilet area was fine for my wife and I as we are still quite mobile, but for persons with a disability or are not so physically fit, getting into the bath or shower could prove difficult. However, this appertains to our room, other rooms may be different. There is adequate parking at the rear of the hotel for which there is a daily parking charge. The hotel is situated within a few yards of the Pier and is only about ten minutes walk from the town centre. All in all it is very conveniently situated.
The food is excellent. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Any issues there may be with the rooms are rectified very quickly. Great location too.
