Sarah at checkin was very helpful, and we were offered a choice of rooms. Room in the "cottage" is rather tired, but nevertheless comfortable. Hotel is idea for our brief requirements.

Beautiful property overlooking the Sea. Beautiful twin double room, coffee making facilities and fridge. Very quiet. Helpful staff. A bit hilly on approach if you have walking difficulties and the cliff lift was closed to the beach.

Weekend escape

Great location, lovely setting. Shame the gym was out of service. Corridors a bit tired in parts and fridge in room didnt work but comfortable and seaside themed room, staff helpful and friendly.

Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel close to the beach. Room was clean and fresh and looks recently refurbished. The Brasserie Blanc breakfast was amazing- delicious traditional English, and full continental. Staff friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely visit again.

The hotel looks very grand in photos but by the car park is a very old run down building. The rooms have been modernised and lounge areas are nice but ultimately a dated hotel. The room I was in required walking across the car park to get a lift as the walk was really far with all my luggage. I don’t think I’ll stay here again and was disappointed by the breakfast and overall quality of the hotel given this is a Marriott hotel.

Overall, we had a great time (in 2 of the cottage rooms). The hotel is well located for the beach and walks to restaurants etc. The rooms were big and the beds were too (and comfortable). The staff were friendly and helpful. The car park costs were good compared to other local car parks albeit we were lucky getting a space at the Marriott car park - there are others very close by, however. Alas, we had a wait for our cottage rooms to be available (4:30pm) but were given a couple of drinks vouchers by way of apology. Despite the wait for the room to be declared ready, we discovered crisps on the floor by the bed and (too late) that there was no shampoo or conditioner for the shower - the staff were prompt and attentive when rectifying that though. The floor of the bathroom was ripped and had holes in the lino which sums up that the cottages look and feel 'tired' and could do with a proper refresh. So not an issue with the staff, more the company and their need to invest in their assets ! Very sadly, although the weather was great the outdoor pool was closed for the season and I wonder if the hotel management could be more flexible about keeping an unheated pool available for a bit longer into the year - even 'cold' it will get plenty of use I'm sure. As noted above, we had a great stay overall.
