First of all the cottage was nice very good location and nice outdoor space however the cottage looks bigger in the pictures and 6 adults would struggle with the downstairs space. The beds were comfy, tea, coffee and milk supplied as well as washing up liquid and hand soap. Onto the less impressive points, no dishwasher tablets even though you are asked to put the dishwasher on when you leave. Only 1.5 loo small loo rolls left, we ran out after 1 night, 4 adults. The location details were useless and so was the customer service rep when I rang for details. Parking was a real pain, located up 50 stairs from the cottage. On the joining instructions they need to tell you that there is a small alley next to Harry's Bar off pier road where you can unload your car then move it to the parking area. Sending a Google link isnt enough to find this place and I found customer services at Stay Yorkshire quite cheeky e.g. "nobody else has had difficulty finding it". The woodburner is nice but only two small logs left and no lighter that I could see. The worst thing for me was a non negotiable 10am checkout on a Sunday morning, I did ask for a later checkout was told no so we had to pack up everything and clean and be out by 10am, not the ideal way to start a Sunday. I love whitby, the cottage was lovely but sadly feel unimpressed by the management and customer service.
