Check directions before setting off, it's in the middle of nowhere and you will get lost despite sat nav. Booked twin rooms, but given doubles. Breakfast average.

It was late in the evening Tired after long drive for my business In the reception I had to wait long and I was given a room in the far away old building I got only a card to my room and I was given a room number I was driving around as there was many buildings that belong to the hotel There where no signs with room number ranges outside of those buildings So in the rain I had to walk from one building to another and check the numbers inside I couldn’t find my room/building after 30 min I was back in the reception in the building in the very front far away for more clear instructions Not the best experience Not going to stay there again

The grounds and Walton hall are amazing but the beds are like a slab of concrete, we ended up sleeping on the lounge even though we had a 2 bedroom apartment

Very tired. Needs maintenance desperately. Few things in the room not working. Hearing. Fine in the summer but winter is approaching. Shower flooded as drainage poor but shower was strong and hot. Every window frame I could see was rotted badly. It’s a shame as it’s a beautiful old building but not had the money spent on it to keep it nice.

Felt like its run on a shoestring. Much of the external woodwork was rotten. The food was expensive and not good according to other guests. The rooms are good and the location is great.

We stayed here for one night & stayed in the older part. I'm not sure if we got an upgrade but our room was massive. Areas needed a bit of a refresh but it's a stunning older building. We had lovely drinks at the bar in the walled garden & ducks walking by. I would definitely stay here again. I love older places that have character.

Walton Hall is gorgeous and we thought we were staying in there but we were put in a different building so disappointed with that but our room was spotless and well appointed, very close to restaurant and bar. Food was great but most of the bar staff were new and need more training. They were friendly but extremely slow and didn’t have a lot of bartending knowledge.

I booked the stay for a great sis experience. However the spa does not have a jacuzzi and the children’s club starts from 4pm and so it’s best to use the swimming pool before this time. Oliver, Deputy Manager was very helpful & he accommodated my request to change our room. The restaurant staff are polite & humble. The dining options are limited & so if I were to stay again I would consider other dining options close to the hotel.

I didn’t have time to walk in the grounds. The hotel was good and service excellent. Delicious food at the restaurant. However , because the hotel is off the main road my Sat Nav could not pick up the final destination and I got lost though I was so near. I arrived half an hour later than planned and rather stressed. Purely by chance I went to the Spa block and met someone who gave me the final directions. Not enough signage on the Fosse way or incoming roads which should be rectified. Also , initially I was supposed to stay in one of the adjoining blocks to the main building. There were steps up and down and I had a suitcase and was wearing heels because of a formal occasion in the following day so I came wearing them. The initial room was therefore inconvenient. I had booked online and there was no warning about the fact that to get to my room there were no lifts since the building was not attached to the main block. Luckily the lovely receptionist changed my room to the main block and I could use a lift. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I found trying to phone in advance impossible since the reception phone was continually busy. More information about the layout of the rooms should be given on your website. Maybe there could also be two phones on reception to deal with hotel guests particularly at busy times.
