Latest Update for the 2022 season is that guests will have access to a private area on the main sea terrace (one of the best in the Carbis Bay resort!) and which gets the sunshine for most of the day. In addition, new mattresses have also been fitted throughout the apartment to make our guests holidays even more comfortable.

Compass Point is a modern and superbly well equipped seaside holiday property located in the prestigious Compass Point complex which has a prime seaward facing position in Carbis Bay and is just a short walk down to the golden sands and clear turquoise waters of Carbis Bay Beach. The surrounding area is dominated by National Trust headlands and dramatic coastal cliff walks with the South West Coastal Path right on your doorstep.

Guests also have easy access to the stunning communal sea terrace of the Compass Point complex which has panoramic sea views towards St Ives harbour in one direction and Godrevy Lighthouse in the other and this allows outside dining and sunbathing. There is also a private car parking space which is big enough for 2 cars which is a very rare feature and the close proximity to the small railway station gives guests the great option of leaving the car and taking the very popular tourist train into St Ives, taking just a few minutes along a single track and which follows a wonderfully scenic path along the coast.

Internally, the apartment has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which is a rare feature in St Ives and enjoys stunning sea views from the Living area and Master Bedroom across St Ives Bay. Compass Point is beautifully staged to Cornish Tourist Board Standards and will sleep up to 6 guests in total comfort. The Kitchen is extremely well equipped with integrated appliances including a Dishwasher, Washing Machine and very large Fridge Freezer. The dining area and living areas are open plan with a large dining table and 6 chairs and there is a large three seat sofa, two seat sofa and additional sofa chair where guests can really relax and enjoy the sea views. There is a large flat screen television, DVD player, Stereo system, Wifi internet access and a selection of classic board games.

There is a modern family bathroom with a large bath with shower over with an additional en-suite shower room off the Master Bedroom. There are two large double bedrooms with a flat screen TV in the Master Bedroom and in the third bedroom are two single beds.

Outside there is a separate storage area for storing the patio furniture for the terrace and which can also be used for bikes and surfboards.

In terms of local facilities, the nearest supermarket is a Tesco which is less than 5 minutes drive away off the main A3074 road into St Ives and where there is a great Costa Coffee with fantastic sea views and which also has free Wifi. There are also banks, hairdressers, a chemist, newsagents and general stores all a short walk away in the centre of Carbis Bay. During the day when on the beach there is a cafe and food outlet as well as a bar within Carbis Bay Hotel.

Compass Point is available all year round and is a great escape destination during the winter months. St Ives is especially popular at both Christmas and New Year and dates can be tailored specifically for your requirements. There is also the St Ives music and arts festival held in September.

Beautiful location
Excellent location having parking and the ability to walk down (steep steps or hill) to wonderful Carbis Bay beach or take short train to bustling St Ives with all the shops and restaurants you could need. Wonderful views and a relaxing location but still close enough to visit tourist attractions should you want to. We loved Healeys Cider Farm and visited Eden on journey home. Super clean with everything you could need. I personally would take portable black out blind as curtains are pale but that’s just me. I do feel 9 am is an early exit time with a 4 o’clock entry. Only small negative is if wanting to use outside space it’s a bit of a walk down and round etc if you are not in flat with direct access. Therefore not really somewhere to eat outside as I felt the advert suggests.

An absolute delight of a property with views to die for! Located just above the train station in Carbis Bay with a very short 3 minute journey into St Ives. The property was well equipped with everything you would require for a nice, relaxing stay. It also had a parking space, which was ideal so you didn't have to worry about driving into St Ives. We would definately recommend this property.

Positives The location of the property and parking is great. The train into St Ives is literally round the corner or you can walk into St Ives via the costal path. The beach and the beach facilities (cafe, shop, toilets etc.) at Carbis Bay is perfect, only downside is the walk back up the steep hill! Negatives There are way too many air fresheners in the property, not sure if they are trying to disguise a smell (which we couldn't smell if there was one), but the minute you open the door the smell of air fresheners hits you (smells like an old peoples home, sorry but it does!). The sun terrace sounds perfect when you read the description, but in reality it's not ideal. You need to take the patio furniture out of the apartment, down the stairs and along to the terrace. We did not use this as too much hassle. Overall we had a good holiday as the weather was perfect - just the property was a bit underwhelming

The property looked lovely the area was lovely the views were amazing. What let it down and would stop me returning was the furniture was so uncomfortable. Not just uncomfortable it has been used so much it is worn out. The mattresses on the beds were awful I could squash it with a finger and a thumb where the springs seemed to be non existent. It was like sleeping on the floor. The beds made a noise every time you moved. I ended up sleeping on the sofa which also had seen better days whilst my wife suffered the bed. The front room furniture looked nice but again due to use there was no comfort due to there being no support in the sofas. I complained to the manager and he did send a thick mattress topper this joined the other 2 on the bed which led me to believe other complaints had been made previously. It was that bad in the end we left for home a day early.

Carbis Bay - Great Sea View
Just back from a weeks holiday at Compass Point, Carbis Bay. This property is in a great position. Train stop into St.Ives is just outside the complex. Carbis Bay beach is a few hundred yards walk away and is a gorgeous beach. The property is ideally situated, very clean and has everything you'd need for your stay. Highly recommended. Perfect Getaway
Myself, my wife and another couple rented this property for a week to escape London. Property was in an ideal location, right above the Carbis Bay train stop which puts you in the heart of St Ives in three minutes. Easy access to beach and short drive from all major highlights of the area. Accommodation was very comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Bryan was incredibly attentive to the few queries we had. Looking forward to staying here again.

Great flat with amazing views
Thanks Bryan for an amazing week in Carbis Bay. We loved the flat - it was super convenient for the beach. We walked into St Ives almost every day and took the train once when it was wet. We went to the water sports centre on the beach most days to kayak, sup or mega-sup. We had pizzas in the restaurant in the beach, had a day trip to Penzance, went to see the Minack theatre. A fabulous week!

We had the best time staying at Compass Point. The apartment has stunning views over Carbis Bay and is ideally situated to catch the train to St Ives. It is immaculately decorated, clean, and has lots of lovely extra touches. The kitchen has everything you need and well equipped. From the moment we booked Brian was friendly and helpful answering any questions we had. The instructions to access the property we clear and easy to follow and the apartment had lots of handy information of places to visit in the local area. We can’t wait to stay again when next visit Cornwall

Exactly as described
The apartment was clean and well appointed, with our every need catered for. The view of the bay was splendid, and the beach was within walking distance even with all the paraphernalia that is needed for a day on the beach with three generations ,although the climb back is not for the faint hearted! The proximity to the railway station is a bonus, especially when visiting St. Ives. The communal outside patio was not as useful as we hoped, being rather exposed and a bit too far away to easily take food outside.

Well equipped apartment with wonderful views of the bay and in a good location. St. Ives is a 20 minute walk away along the coast path, whilst the frequent trains take about 2 minutes if you don't feel like walking. Carbis Bay itself has a beautiful sandy beach with a cafe and an excellent hotel, though the walk back is rather steep!

A wonderful apartment overlooking Carbis Bay, ideally situated for the sandy beach and either catching the train or walking into St Ives. So many things to do and places to visit within easy travelling distance. We had an amazing three generation family holiday with something for everyone.

bright, tidy apartment in great location
We booked this apartment for our family of 4 plus one other for 12 nights at the end of a long UK trip. Brian was very helpful during booking answering a stream of questions and providing all the information we needed. The apartment was clean, well set up and the views are superb. We had everything we needed during our stay. The walk to St Ives was enjoyable if not exactly relaxing but it was nevertheless great to be able to get there without parking hassles. I do not hesitate to recommend this property.
