Summary:
Tucked away in a peaceful spot and just a few minutes walk from Port Isaac harbour is this stunning, newly renovated cottage for three. Inside, the restored period features have been perfectly complimented with tasteful bohemian interiors. Old cobbled stones contrast beautifully against the crisp white walls, whilst the navy velvet sofa and burnt orange furnishings create a warm and inviting space.
The Space:
A log burner and projector are on hand for cosy nights in, plus there are books and board games to borrow freely during your stay. Leading on from the open plan living and dining space is the kitchen, which has been kitted out with wooden cladded walls that resemble a stylish surf shack. There's everything you need to cook up hearty meals, from a brand new Smeg oven and hob to good quality knives and Kitchen Aid kettle and toaster.
Exposed wooden floorboards continue up the stairs to the first floor where there are two bedrooms. The master room features a clever clothes rail that has been hand made using a foraged branch and leather straps, as well as an antique rattan bed and chest of drawers. Enjoy slow mornings with idyllic countryside views straight from the bed! The second bedroom is warm and welcoming with a comfortable single bed, high-quality linens and chest of drawers for storage. The two rooms share a bathroom that is equipped with a well-pressured antique shower, a gorgeous upcycled vanity unit and brass fixtures - it's the sort of bathroom you'd dream of having at home!
Outside in the garden, enjoy reading on the grass in the sun or relaxing on the benches with a glass of wine and the fire pit crackling in the background. It's a place of tranquillity and peace, where you can wander to the harbour and beach at low tide or take a long walk through the hills right from the door. Polzeath is just a 15-minute drive whilst Padstow is a little further: both are great spots for surfers and beach-goers.
Dogs are welcome with a fee of £20/dog (max 2). It is on the condition they are not allowed on the soft furnishings or in the bedrooms.

The Neighborhood:
Port Isaac is an idyllic fishing village located on the North coast of Cornwall. Much of the village has kept its charm by remaining relatively unchanged from its days of fishing and slate export in the previous century. Traditional fisherman's cottages line the streets, as well as a handful of small independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
There are plenty of dining options in the village. Enjoy good pub grub and a local pint with a view at Stargazy Inn, impressive seafood at chef Nathan Outlaw's two restaurants and delicious stone-baked pizzas at The Angry Anchovy. Polzeath is just a fifteen minute drive away, with plenty of good dining options. Padstow is a little further at around 30 minutes drive. The area is well known as one of Cornwall's main foodie spots, boasting restaurants from Rick Stein as well as a handful of independently owned pubs, cafes and takeaways.
Polzeath is a popular surfing spot for swimmers and surfers, and there are plenty of places to hire surfboards and wetsuits. Avid walkers can follow the Cornish Coastal Path from Port Isaac around the Pentire Headland and down towards Polzeath Beach. This is a 3-4 hour hike one way, but there are regular buses should your legs get too tired to walk back! East of Port Isaac you will find Tintagel, a quaint seaside village well-known for its historic castle. There is a lovely walk from here up to Boscastle, which follows the clifftops and provides sensational coastal views.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall we would highly recommend bringing a car to make the most of your time here. Port Isaac is a very old fishing village built before cars were even a consideration, so as a result very few properties - including the cottage - have parking. However, a carpark is located just one minute walk away and costs £10 per day.
