Tucked away on a very quiet street in Newlyn this end of terrace home is the perfect romantic retreat. With sea views over Mounts Bay, cosy living space with log burner and a lovely bedroom and bathroom.
Enjoy the treats of Newlyn; the renowned Newlyn Art Gallery and Exchange, Newlyn Art School and of course lots and lots of the freshest fish around.
Foodies will love nearby Mackerel Sky, Argoe, and the beautifully restored Newlyn Filmhouse with its bistro, both only a few minutes walk away.
Walk along the quiet street of Farmers Meadow and at the end you'll see number 17 with a tidy garden perfect for relaxing with a book.
Head inside and instantly you'll be warmed by the character and charm of this end of terrace cottage.
The living space has a log burner, comfortable seating and the dining table. To the rear is an open entrance to the kitchen, sympathetically fitted with the character of the cottage in mind. It's well equipped with everything you need for a whipping up meals.
Head up stairs to the master bedroom with sea views, double bed and plenty of storage. The bathroom has a roll top bath and with a good overhead shower.
Also on this floor is one of our favourite areas during the day, a second living area/workspace with superb views. Light and airy, it's a great place to be creative or if needs must catch up on some work.
From here you can also access the balcony, with stunning views it's a great sun trap.
All of it - enjoy!
We live locally and know the area really well. We're here to make sure you have a great time, whether it's surf tips from Sam or Josh can give you heads up on best places to eat and Lizzy on sourcing great ingredients, you're welcome to ask us for help and advice before, during and after your stay.
We use a self-service check-in to give you flexibility when arriving, we might swing by to check everything is ok during your stay but we like to respect your privacy too.
Newlyn is one of the few places in Cornwall by the sea that still holds much of it's historic charm. With a strong creative culture and a good presence for foodies, it attracts a wide audience.
A fishing town at heart, Newlyn is a very laid back place to be that has always had boats and visitors coming and going.
In recent years we've seen the town grow from strength to strength, the Newlyn Filmhouse is a fantastic addition with comfortable seating, good film choices and all in an old fisherman's warehouse.
The local shops are good, with a proper greengrocers, several quality fishmongers (Trelawney's is our pick!), artisan cheese shop and how can we not mention Jelbert's Ice Cream Parlour. As unassuming as Jelbert's is, the ice cream speaks for itself!
Restaurants we recommend in Newlyn include Mackerel Sky and The Tolcarne Inn, there are several other good options in walking distance in Penzance and Mousehole. Argoe is new to the scene and offers exceptional seafood.
You might need to walk a short distance from car to property, maybe 2-5 minutes depending on the on street parking on the day. But generally Newlyn is easy to navigate and a great place to be based for exploring.
To arrive by public transport is quite easy, the train station in Penzance is a 5 minute drive, 20 minute walk or there are several buses.
We'd recommend exploring further West to places like Sennen and the Minack at Porthcurno as well as over to St Michael's Mount.
Being so close to the coast, the SW Coast Path is easy to pick up being just a 2-3 minute walk from your front door.
If you are bringing a pet we charge £35 per stay and we ask that you do not allow them on the furniture or upstairs.
Please respect our neighbours and be aware of being noisy when coming back late and making noise in the property at night.
