Nice place but had to wait 10mins as they tried to charge me again for my room after I paid on line 2 months ago. Got to the room that was utterly freezing with no heat.
3 attempts got it working to find near no water at shower and the tray all blocked with hair.
Large recently decorated room, with totally renewed shower room. All very nice, but a bit short on furniture! Lots of spce but only one easy chair in a double room, and no chest of drawers so if you were staying any length of time and wanted to unpack...
The staff were very friendly and the food was good, evening and breakfast.
We had a room at the front and there was traffic noise, but it wasn't enough to disturb our sleep.
The room and hotel overall was nice. Easy to park and able to check in quickly. My only big negative was the pillows were so flat it was hard to be comfortable in bed, please buy some new pillows.
Road noise compromised sleep massively. Beams and low ceilings a hazard for husband who is 6ft 2inches tall. Broken handle on one of the windows, so couldn’t open it. Cobwebs on bathroom skylight. Dirty valance on one of the beds.
Hotel does not look exactly spectacular from the outside, but once inside, a very warm welcome from the owners. Lovely room with amazing shower, and very comfortable bed.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Location good, nice decor throughout. All staff very friendly.
The decor was interesting and obviously had had some recent upgrading.
The bed was comfortable but bedside light switches were inaccessible when in bed. The shower was excellent. The room was lean.
We were disappointed that there were no "extras" - there was no shower gel or complimentary toiletries. The tea and coffee supplied was very basic and not replenished. There were no biscuits or nibbles provided and there was no facility to purchase anything - apart from the charity sweets on reception.
The biggest issue was that the four star rating which appeared on the website actually was based on the food hygiene rating and was not actually the star rating of the hotel. Other guests had noted this also.
My stay started out very promising with a warm welcome at reception and easy parking. I had booked lunch before checking in and it was superb. This is one area where the hotel does stand out as they have a lovely modern restaurant, a good menu with special offers also and the service is excellent. Unfortunately as a hotel there is still room for improvement. As I walked into my spacious room the cold was very noticeable. The room had been recently cleaned so all the windows were open. I couldn’t close one of the windows but the others did close. The shower room was huge but with only a towel rail for heating it never warmed up. The tile floor was therefore really cold to walk across and I ended up putting towels down on the floor. The bedroom was quite dark even with all the lights on but the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. The shower room had one double-glazed window and an old single glazed window in the shower. This window was mouldy but most worryingly the downlight in the shower was missing and you could see bare metal connections and the ceiling through the hole. I’m sure that having an exposed electrical light fitting in a wet shower is an electrical hazard!
My most uncomfortable experience was returning at 11pm and the door code didn’t work! I tried for 5 minutes, called the emergency number, waited a while before they turned up and couldn’t open it either. They forgot to bring the key! I did get in eventually but was frozen and tired.
Decent small hotel situated very handily for getting into Nottingham city centre (and close to the motorway). Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only problem was that Expedia had charged us more than the room rate - an issue dealt with very professionally by hotel staff
