Lovely old building and our bedroom was very spacious. Had a lovely swim and sauna on waking followed by a fab breakfast. No complaints whatsoever so would definitely stay again.

We upgraded to a delux room as a treat for ourselves but found it situated above the reception area/front entrance. Had noise until well after midnight and at 6.30am coaches parked outside engines running. Accessibility was non existent. Dinner was in a small room with table of 10 in middle and 4 of us couples wedged up against the walls. The party of 10 were loud and dominated the area making small talk impossible as well as putting the poor staff at a disadvantage as they were constantly barraged by the table to wait on them even when bring us our food. Extremely poor decision making on the part of the manager. Spoke to FOH staff who were not in the slightest bit interested in assisting. Will never recommend this hotel

Excellent friend staff in all areas clean tidy room were you can want for nothing there was a wedding but did not effect any other residence and the night was so quite there was also entertainment on the eving

A lovely stay but…
The staff and the building itself were brilliant. The only elements that stopped me from a full five star review was that the rooms needed some modernisation and TLC. No plugs near the bed so not possible to charge our phones simply overnight. Chipped paintwork, doors that didn’t shut properly etc.

You get what you pay for...
A beautiful Elizabethan stone front to the hotel,with well established grounds . Full of local history. The interior decor is good in places,but in desperate need of a good clean and refurbishment. Looks like a local authority ran establishment. Especially the spa changing rooms and poolside areas,which is need of an upgrade,if it wants to compete with other high end Spas. The quality of food for breakfast felt like it was kept low due to budgets. You can get better crossiants from Lidl! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and couldn't fault any of them . My room was clean and my bed very comfy my spa bath when used smelt mouldy and foisty. I was expecting better unfortunately due to the photos from the front!.

Great hotel, lots to do, swimming, tennis, table tennis, mini golf, frisbee golf. Then further afield, Locomotion and Kynren...a most amazing show. Will definitely return.

Nice relaxing hotel/spa
A lovely old hotel with a great Gym. Some parts are a little tired such as the Spa but I believe renovations are due shorty. The food is ok. Not the best I've had compared to equivalent hotels.
