Lovely old building. But needs money spending on it. Staff are very helpful but very busy and don’t have time to make you feel comfortable. Room is clean but tired. Food was very good.

Tired & worn - Don’t bother
Apparently the hotel was built in the 14th century and my room looked like it hadn’t been refurbished too often since. Bed was at an angle, no hot water, generally old and worn. I reported the water issue and was simply told that we will investigate; didn’t really help me?! An offer of a discount would have been appreciated but wasn’t offered. This isn’t good hospitality or service. I certainly won’t be going back.

Superb staff in worn out surroundings
The staff, particularly the male Portuguese bar tender, were friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are in need of renovation but the rooms were quiet and the location ideal. The food and drink was reasonable though pricey. Would stay again if in the area.

Room was old and the bathroom needs a good overhaul. Lots of mouldy sealant and not overally clean. Bed was comfortable to sleep in.

Delapedated old building with the most disgusting shower. Black hair on the shower wall and in the shower tray. Grubby towels etc. However the staff were excellent and so helpful. Obviously there is a problem with the cleaning staff not front of house.
