Two wedding parties on at the same tims and not disclosed. Music outside till very late keeping us awake. Drinks hugely expensive. Food small portions and has caused allergic sleep issues Bed sheets feel great - beds too hard abd sythetic duvet too hot so needing to be thrown off. No electric car charging - Mottram Hall 3 miles away has free Tesla destinTion chargers.

Disappointed

Pros: The reception area in the main building is charming as was the lady who checked us in.
Cons: Either refurbish the bedroom (345) or cut the room rate in half.
The room was not value for many at all. Tucked away at the back of the hotel, we were allocated room 345. This room had to be accessed by a series of corridors and via 2 lifts that were frustratingly slow and appeared to have a mind of their own. Nearly everything about the room was disappointing. No view from the small triangular high-up windows (one had a damaged catch), a broken headboard, ripped wallpaper, cracked floor tiles, plug chain broken, sink blocked, missing coat hook (holes still there though), peeling faux leather settee.... the list could goes on and on. I rant because I paid a lot of money for the room, and I did not feel I got what I paid for.

Confined to the attic

Although the staff were great and the main part of the hotel very nice, the car park is right at the back and when I arrived, it was dark and signage was not great so I had to walk right around the outside and down lots of steps with my luggage. My room was then as far away from reception as it was possible to be, along a maze of corridors and up in the rafters. The room itself was big, clean and comfortable but extras paid for were not in room and had to be asked for. I felt very vulnerable as a lone female traveller being so far away from everything and with little or no sign of other guests on the same corridor. I felt like I had been relegated to the attic as there were clearly several large groups staying.

Last time there

Chewing gum(i hope) on the bed sheets, 4-5 channels only on the tv, the rest of them not working, bath tub faulty, other cracks in the walls, the worst mattress in the world on their beds(coil mattress), room next to an access door that was banging every 30 seconds and made the walls vibrate, rooms service menu less than basic with sandwiches and pizza when their restaurant has great food, is like theh are trying to see for how long they will get people booking rooms before they shut down.

Ok hotel in nice gounds

Pros: The old part of the hotel was very elegant as the decor really nice.
Cons: Guest rooms
This is a lovely looking hotel in nice grounds but the layout is unbelievable, it's like a maze and extremely difficult to find your way around once you enter the extended area. We were in this area on the top floor under the eves in the roof area, the room was nothing like the photo, it was so small you had to stoop every time you walked past the bottom of the bed or you would hit your head. The window a small triangle with no curtain or blind although the fixings were there from a previous blind and it was really dark. The mattress on the bed was so old you could feel the springs starting to come through so I did not get much sleep. On checkout I mentioned my concerns and was simply told the rooms were getting refurbished in 2 weeks but no apologies. I would never stay there again.
