The bathroom was in poor condition. Shower was useless. Hand rail in bath/shower was rusty and had sharp rusty part too. Room wasn't very clean and the headboards were very loose. There was an ironing board but no iron. Cupboard drawers were dirty. You couldn't put clothes in them.
On arrival i was told that it was room only, not bes and breakfast. I could have swore i looked for and booked bed and breakfast. The guy on reception wasn't very helpful. I think he was tired. We did pay fir breakfast but it wasn't great. Need a better way of keeping the food warm.
Generally the staff were lovely and helpful. Don't think i would stay there again though.

First room allocation not great asked to change and guys on reception were excellent
Had a lovely lovely stay.
The staff were excellent and the hotel is very charming and full of character.
Seems as though the hotel is going through a refurb and bedrooms are dated however I feel the price reflects that and the rooms are still very clean.
Our stay at The Hollinhouse Hotel was good apart from a noisy generator that went on early hours of morning. Staff very friendly the room very comfortable and breakfast was very generous.
The Hotel prouds itself in high Victorian Gothic architecture which has been wonderfully preserved.

The check in facility wasn't great. I got overcharged and I’m still waiting for some money back.Telephone enquiries were dreadful. Beautiful scenery, very clean room. Very tasty breakfast.
Stayed here for one night. Upon check-in the outside / entrance way / downstairs all looked wonderful so we were excited to see our room. Our room was a massive disappointment. Window facing onto the backend of the building, view of a flat roof. Only one plug socket we could find (?), bedside lamps broken, dated decor and furniture, didn’t seem cleaned properly. We did find a beetle/bug in the room but hoping that was a one off from outside as we didn’t see any more. Poorly soundproofed - could hear everything from adjacent rooms and the corridor. We were out for most of the evening and only got back at 1am so didn’t want to cause disruption by complaining or requesting a room change, however we both firmly agreed we would not return again. Couldn’t give this feedback in person as there was no-one manning the desk upon check-out time!
On one positive breakfast was very decent for £8 each.
So much potential as the outside of the building is lovely and surrounding area. I bet some rooms have wonderful views, but not room 39! What a shame overall.

Stay was for wedding but room was dusty and bed old and noisy . Breakfast was good . Bath was slippery no mat in the bath .
The front exterior and restaurant was beautiful. The staff were really nice. Unfortunately our room smelt, was dated and we were kept awake by people talking till 3am and dog barking.
We arrived and it was a very grand hotel, but then I was disappointed as I specifically informed them of my walking difficulties, and we were put in Room 36. The walk was horrific for me as I have Spondylitis, and am in constant pain when walking. My husband informed Reception and was informed that there was only Double bedrooms available. The hotel was very dated, and could do with a makeover to refresh everything. I felt like the bedding was damp on my bed which was situated near the outside exterior, and then checked and no mattress protector
