This is our accommodation of choice when we're in the area. We particularly like the fabulous restaurant, which never disappoints - make sure you book in advance as it's very popular.
It was a comfortable stay. Room well equipped.
Food excellent and customer service very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Dinner not cheap, but the best food we have eaten for a very long time. Good range of options for breakfast, clearly freshly cooked.
Pub restaurant was nice, food was good, breakfast quite nice, initially staff was not so friendly, later it got better, the room was quite small and for sure the beds very small
Food really good. Beds comfy. Staff and service excellent. Few cobwebs in room but generally clean. Breakfast 2nd day was not great as chef over slept lol.
I booked this last minute as I couldn't face another night of camping in a tent! The bedroom was on the top floor and also included the exclusive use of a separate lounge room. The decoration and furnishings were stylish and in-keeping with the property - it felt like a luxury stay (not just because I'd been sleeping in a tent before that!!)
The bathroom had an old-fashioned bath tub and large walk-in shower. Very large bed in this room (it felt larger than a king size?).
The bedroom does have a height restriction though so wouldn't be suitable for everyone.
It was a busy Saturday night but I managed to find a spot in the pub car park.
Was met by a very friendly lady at reception who showed me around.
Lovely place. A village pub with super-comfortable, immaculate rooms and a great restaurant (obviously much patronised by local residents). Friendly, obliging staff and a genuinely warm welcome. Somewhere to come back to with pleasure.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was smallish but bed was kingsize and comfortable.
Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel. Highly recommended
