WILDWOOD in the Scottish Highlands near Loch Ness and Fort Augustus Pet Friendly

Luxury Scandanavian Log House, Forest Views & Wildlife Right On Your Doorstep
Wildwood, a first class self catering accommodation for large families, groups of friends or just more space for the appreciative couple. Wildwood is set within a tranquil forest and is within easy reach of the village of Fort Augustus with it's famous Caledonian canal locks and Loch Ness. The forest tracks along the River Oich and the Great Glen make life easier to enjoy the Highlands right from your doorstep in this idyllic location. The lounge at Wildwood is located on the 1st floor taking advantage of the magnificent views through it's large picture windows, bringing the forest ever closer. A wood burner will keep you warm during those colder evenings. Also on the first floor is the master suite with dressing room and ensuite shower plus a single bedroom. A spiral staircase descends to the large open plan kitchen/dining area. Double and twin bedrooms, bathroom and large Utility/drying room are also at this level. Outside seating and barbecue for the finer days add to the experience. Totally Dog friendly.

What a wonderful lodge ... everything you need home from home. Perfect location for our trips ie climbing Ben Nevis. Very spacious with the added bonus of the boot room so all the muddy walking gear can be contained to one space. The views are stunning with woodland walks on the doorstep. Highly recommend

The property is full of character, and is an only a short walk to Loch Ness. Really enjoyed the property and the area, plus it’s a great base to explore the highlands.

Wildwood family holiday
The house is spacious and in a lovely location just outside Fort Augustus. Plenty of room for 7 people and well equipt. Great for dog owners! (But could do with a bit of TLC). Great walks staight out of the door and a good starting point for trips out to the surrounding area, Inverness or Skye only1 hour away. Would recommend this property to families with dogs! L&M

Lovely Stay Here
We had a great stay here, the cabin itself was lovely and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the living areas are great for watching the birds. The cabin could do with some TLC (some wobbly door handles and finicky taps) and maybe a deep clean to get rid of webs and dust balls but that certainly wouldn’t stop me from visiting again. It’s also a good location to use as a base if you want to explore lots of areas of the Highlands. We visited Fort William, Inverness, Glenfinnan and even got to visit the Isle of Skye however that’s a longer journey. Great overall and we’ll look forward to visiting again, Thankyou!

We recommend this lodge as we had a brilliant time. The lodge was lovely and clean it had everything you would want. It's got a lovely view as you look out the windows . We took our dogs and they enjoyed the walks though the forest as we did to . Fort Augustus is a great place. The people are very friendly. Lovelys walks along the canal. Would definitely go back again.

We enjoyed our stay Wildwood. Great location - especially if you have a dog. Spent most days walking in the woods and then popping down to the village for coffee and cake and a wander round the gift shops.

Pure relaxation in the middle of nature
The property is on the edge of Fort Augustus, surrounded by trees. You can be in town in a few minutes by car. The house was our starting point to explore Scotland. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the Highlands. The house is rustic and integrates wonderfully into nature. The living room with fireplace on the first floor was our meeting place every evening to evaluate the day and plan the next day. We didn't have much contact with the owner as everything was settled and there were no further questions, but the times that we had contact the replies were always quick, helpful and friendly. We would definitely book the house again if we make another trip to the Highlands.

Fabulous location and spacious property, comfy beds, well equipped .
Would stay again. Could do with a deep clean though . Was very dog smelly when we arrived, bench outside can’t be sat on as dangerous so no where to sit.

Great lodge
Came to Wildwood as a base as my sister was walking the Great Glen Way. The lodge was ideally situated, lovely and peaceful but only minutes from Fort Augustus in the car (about 20mins on foot). The views from the upstairs lounge was perfect and it was full of comfy sofas to relax after one of the many walks we went on ( lots straight from the house so no need for car). This is a perfect house for anyone who loves walking or is looking for a base in this part of Scotland

The most beautiful peaceful and tranquil place we could have chosen for our family holiday! Hidden gem
The cabin is set amongst the forest, with a handful of other cottages or cabins nearby. However, despite these other properties, you feel you’re isolated and at complete peace. The cabin itself is perfect, although there was only two of us (well 3 counting our beagle), it is more than big enough for a good sized group. It has everything. As a kid, my parents and grandparents spent their holidays (with me in tow), around Loch Ness, in chalets. So, after 30+ years, to return to the area and stay in such a perfect lodge provoked many pleasant memories. We would highly recommend Wildwood to anyone of any group size. Excellent.. best word to describe it.
