One of the many good things about The View in Eastbourne is that it has a number of single rooms, and they represent particularly good value for money. Also, great sea views, friendly and helpful staff, nice food, good value, and very clean. My only negative experience is only a minor one. It's just a bit fiddly if you want breakfast in your room - you have to go to reception to get a little form to indicate your order, and then give it back to reception for them to take it from there. No such forms in the rooms, and no option to hook the form on your door for the night porter to collect the form and give it to the kitchen. Perhaps if you scan the code on the leaflet in the room it gets simpler, but I got a message on my phone saying it was out of date. Overall a great stay though, and the restaurant is very spacious if you want a quiet table for breakfast.

I booked a family room for our weekend trip. However, there was a wedding on Saturday night, and while the hotel did post a notice in the elevator about loud music until midnight, they assigned us a room on the 2nd floor—directly above the wedding venue. This seemed like the worst possible placement for a family with young children. A bit more consideration from the staff could have made a difference, like assigning us a room on a higher floor to minimise the noise.

Nice hotel, nice view facing the seafront (balcony room). Room was nice and quiet. The room was clean and there was plenty of space for one person. Complimentary coffee, tea and toiletries etc. Tv with lots of channels. I left my bag with them on departure, the only downside was there wasn’t any secure storage and it was left by the reception desk so I just walked off with it when I returned later with no-one checking which was slightly concerning as I had assumed it would be safe and not left in an open & busy lobby.

A great hotel, with easy access to the beach. We stayed with a 10 month old baby during the weekend of the Beachy Head marathon - a great service. Great location too - just by the beach, there is a community sauna (not affiliated with the hotel) just across the road - perfect location
