Stay over and golf
Stayed 2 nights as part of a road trip holiday. Played golf on their superb 18 hole golf course. Bar food very good as also the buffet breakfast. Rooms of a good standard.

Have stayed here for work several times, but this time was very disorganised. Took a table booking then didn't open the restaurant. When checking out told I could have a copy of the invoice because I booked through a 3rd agent. Told them it wasn't a problem the previous week or the time before. Just told "No we cant do it".

We were charged a very large fee for our one night stay for our small, under 7kg, dog! This was not mentioned whilst booking on Hotels.com. This problem happens often with Hotels.com but this fee is the highest amount we've been charged. Still, we did get a sleeping pad, towel and bowls for her, plus sliding doors to a patio which was very nice. I have only positive reviews for the Staverton staff but am becoming fed up with Hotel.com's lack of clarity on additional pricing!!

Facilities good, paid extra for superior room, which was rather tired. Paint peeling on ceiling above shower, visible black spot in sealant around the bath. Thick dust on bedside tables. Spoke to Duty Manager, he was very nice, gave us some vouchers to get drinks whilst he had the room cleaned again, which it was. Bed was very comfortable , and the room did have everything you needed, iron/ironing board, complementary toiletries.

Air Conditioning Next Time Please
The weather was very hot during our stay, it was disappointing that there was no air conditioning in the room. Putting a fan on in the room before we used it wasn't really very helpful!! I would add that the porridge in the breakfast bar was awful, not cooked properly. I had to leave my portion.
