Good but needed a once over
Everything was fine apart from a couple of cleanliness issues. We've stayed here many time and never had any issues but this time there were a couple of things. the spare pillows were unclean and had to be changed for new ones. I could feel something under the bottom sheet so moved it to find large crumbs and the final thing in the morning when I moved the curtain all the way back there was a dog treat. I thought the animal friendly rooms were meant to be cleaned better than normal rooms but this one clearly hadn't been.

We stopped for a night to break up a long journey. We were happy with the room comfort, friendly service and the fact that all rooms are dog-friendly. The pet fee was a very reasonable £10. Breakfast was decent quality and everything had been cleaned and restocked after a large coach party had theirs. The Toby Carvery next door is advertised as open until 10pm but apparently food stops at 8.30, which meant we were too late, but we had a takeaway delivered and the Ibis staff happily lent us plates and cutlery. Overall a really good budget stay, we would go back.

A nice welcome from the reception staff, and tidy rooms, as well as a generous breakfast are some of the best points here. The car park is free, but spaces are typically tight. Unfortunately, the bed pillows are low quality which doesn't help with a good night's sleep. Also be careful as the doors on the rooms need pushing/pulling to fully close.
