Just a quick overnight stay before an event the following day
Room was small but had everything we needed & space for the dog
Continental breakfast was taken in the room, adequate but a stay atvthe weekend where a proper breakfast is available would have been nice!
Staff welcoming & we ate an evening meal there which was very good
Will be here all day listing all the good about this pub/hotel.
The only gripe i had, was having to go out and buy my own milk in the morning, for coffee and cereal, only a pittance was provided in the communal fridge, i noticed it in the evening before bed, assuming the staff would check and replace for guests in the morning, they did not.
When arrived with our friends from Canada there was no warm welcome, there is a narrow staircase from the bar area to get to the rooms. We requested a quiet room and were given the rooms directly under the bar, noise till 11.30pm. There was a church across the road and the bells rang until 11.30pm and started again in the early hours of the morning. Had a chat with the manager as we felt we were given the nosiest rooms, she was very blashy and quite rude. The food is nothing to write home about and as for the continental breakfast during weekday is very poor, a small fridge at the bottom of the stirs you get your milk, yogurt and some cakes, in your room you had cereal and tea/coffee. I only booked at this place because my friend like beer and there is a brewery in the village. The company behind these pub's have no hospitality skills and you can see this by the state of the rooms.
