Great spot, but poorly managed
House is great. Convenient location, very clean and comfortable, well stocked, uncluttered, nice open concept. We arrived Thursday night with plans to work remotely on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately there was no WiFi, internet or cable. We reached out to management right away and did not get any response. Called two times on Friday and they eventually dropped off a hotspot. They said the tv wouldn’t work though. We ended up calling the cable provider and scheduling the repair on our own. Finally by Saturday evening we had tv and internet, but we were checking out Sunday morning. Property management did nothing to help and we had to wait around for the repair crews to work. Also there is a wood pellet stove and no pellets were left for it. They did bring some pellets on day 2 after I requested them in writing and a follow up phone call. And the stairs, deck and driveway were solid ice. It hadn’t snowed in a week, so this seemed negligent. We spent almost a 1/2 hour clearing the ice.from the entryways. The lack of communication and poor management was just unacceptable. The house is great, but the management really dropped the ball.Very disappointing.

Nice cabin but needs updating.
The price of this cabin is par with its condition. 5 minutes from town and you can walk to a great bakery in the morning. The checking in and out process was very easy. The kitchen is great and it has everything you need to cook. The BBQ was old but it still worked. The hot tube was nice a clean. The TV was big and a good selection of channel. Commons beach was great and close by. Took us an hour to drive to South Shore one day. Good food in town. But we would not come back or recommend this house because for the following reasons. The couches in this house are absolutely awful. They are as old as the house. The main couch has a blanket covering the tears in the couch and reveal the wooden frame of the couch. You hear the springs creek as you move on the couch. After spending a day at the lake you want to be able to relax when you come back. It is not possible on these two couches. The dust on the old fans and the ceiling fan is disgusting. The old fans do not allow you to take off the screens to clean them or the fans blades. We turned on the ceiling fan and immediately turned it off when you could see the dust falling off it. The master bathroom shower has sharp, broken edge tile exposed by the door. Some one could easily cut their feet and can't secure the shower door. The windows are old and you can't open all of them to air out the house on a hot day. The kitchen window does not open. The windows in the rooms barely open and they are old outdated single pane windows.

Would rent again!
We had a great experience at the Bechtold property, you cannot BEAT this LOCATION! Walkable to pastries at Tahoe House and a great health food store nearby, 5 min to downtown Tahoe City, river rafting, grocery store, it met all our needs for being close to shopping and fun and beaches, hikes. The deck is lovely and hot tub very clean. Overlooks a nursery and lots of trees around it doesn't at all feel or sound like you are right off a main road. It's a quiet neighborhood and the house well appointed. Loved that there are so many fans in the house to keep running to stay cool. Would definitely rent this place again.

We enjoyed snow play in the long driveway and yard. The house is well designed and reflects classic architectural choices of the 70’s. I really liked the trash compactor which held our discards for the 5-day stay without needing to be emptied.

This cabin had all the basic supplies one would need to be comfortable. The fans in bedrooms were appreciated as the days were warm. We had plenty of linens and paper products. The rental company personnel were helpful. We were especially happy we could bring our dog.

Enjoyed our stay!
This was our first Vrbo rental and we had a wonderful experience. Communication was on point leading up to our stay. Once we arrived, the property was clean, stocked, pet friendly (except a few big stairs) and comfortable. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood, fenced backyard and with a garden nursery within walking distance. A very short driving distance to eateries and shopping. We drove about 25 min to Patton Beach since it was listed as dog friendly and it didn’t disappoint. Easy to set up chairs, blankets and paddle boards right into the water. The day before our departure, we received clear instructions for leaving the property and making sure trash was locked in the bear bin. Definitely recommend property.

This is my favorite area of Tahoe to stay in. The house was a little bit older, but that was not a problem for me, it was advertised fairly, and the location was exactly where I wanted to be. Would definitely stay again.

Funky, fun Tahoe cabin.
Enjoyed our stay, size, patio & hot tub were fine. Beds we're comfortable but a King in the master would feel great. Place needs a thorough cleaning. Couches are dingy & torn, beautiful windows are dirty. Hot tub wasn't serviced during our stay, so I can't tell when it was last cleaned: scary. Road noise is busy and windows don't open easily for cool air. Located behind large nursery so heavy equipment runs frequently. Last thing, the sofa in loft isn't there! Manager did drop off a air bed, fine for 10 yr old. Place has great potential but needs a freshening up.

Nice stay close to Tahoe City.
Property is very clean and important aspects such as kitchen and bathrooms have been updated and nice. Architecturally the house is pleasing, especially large round window and fireplace. Furniture is dated, but functional. One downer, is house is very close to route 89 and commercial properties thus traffic was loud and constant.

Great property
I would recommend this property. I stayed with a party of 5 and we had plenty of space. Everything was working (fireplace, hot tub, Internet) and we had no major issues. The place looks like it does in the photos. I called them property manager several times with questions and always got prompt answers. It was great to have wood on site for the fireplace. Minor feedback / advice for hosts and future guests - With all the snow this winter, the entry steps were basically an ice trench. Watch your step. - In the hot tub 3 of the 4 bubble jets were not functional but I think this has been true for a while. - The kitchen was pretty well stocked but we couldn’t find Tupperware for leftovers - Cable TV works but was not connected to Internet for streaming services - Bear fencing at entry doors doesn’t have step-by-step instructions

Cozy cabin, great location!
Our family of four had a lovely time at this cabin. The living room area was so cozy with a fireplace and the best view out a unique large porthole window! The wifi was solid, the hot water was never a problem, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location is just a short drive to grocery stores, Granlibakken, Commons Beach, Za’s Lakefront restaurant, and a Tesla charging station. There was too much snow on the ground to really enjoy the back yard but maybe next time!

Perfect location
Property is close to Tahoe City, about 10 minutes from Alpine and 15 minutes from Squaw. Comfortable “vintage” style mountain home. Love the large circle window! Only reason why I rated 4 star and not 5 star is some features of the property are dated. Otherwise everything was very clean and we enjoyed our stay! Would stay again.

The house was very clean and cozy. We really enjoyed the hot tub. My only suggestion would be to add more towels for the hot tub. There were only 2. Also, the outside deck was full of droppings from the trees. Perhaps when the house is being readied for guests, a good sweeping of the deck and hot tub would be great

We had a lovely time with our family here. Awesome location, very near and yet we felt secluded at the house. Very clean, well-stocked kitchen. Just one note is that it was super hot inside the house and the fans didn’t quite make it comfortable. We had a little hard time sleeping. Wonder if you could bring in portable AC for hot days?

Fun in the snow
We had a great time. The indoor stairs were a little scary for the kids. And I had a fall going into the sunken living room area, because the step down was sort of uneven (meaning the distance down was a bit awkward for me. (I was fine) So an improvement may be to rebuild that a bit to a standard step height. Otherwise fine.

Good stay at this rustic cabin
Overall good. Very convenient location with the downside of being on a main road you hear a lot of traffic, especially at night. With no A/C windows must be kept open or it is unbearably hot. Loved that dogs are welcomed, but would recommend upkeep of the front and backyard. The front entrance is all woodsy, dusty and full of pine needles and sap, which make it challenging to keep paws clean and not bring all of that dust inside. Great to have the small fenced backyard but that too needs clean up and TLC. Would recommend replacing all the carpeting in the bedrooms and stairs with laminate/tile/wood. We enjoyed the stay. It was a good place to "land" in the evenings after a day of adventures.
