Love this hotel!
The surrounding area was sketchy as heck, homeless everywhere… but you find that everywhere in downtown LA. The hotel was beautiful, out of the 3 hotels we stayed at, this is the one I’d return to.

Good warm breakfast, friendly staff, not the best area but parking lot has a guard and cameras and made us feel more at ease with the area. Super clean rooms, and amenities included I would stay here again. The free breakfast and free parking sold me very rare in LA. 24hr gym and small pool

Property was clean . The area surrounding the building was sketchy. Homeless in the street yelling. Taking off their clothes. Asking foroney. Sidewalks were dirty and smelled like they were NEVER cleaned with any cleaner. Horrible Stenchwheres the Mayor of LA id like to point this out to him. Do your job

Look Up LOCATION before Booking
LOCATION IS TERRIBLE!!!! Literally around the corner from Macarthur Park!!! Look up that park before you book, if you don’t mind that type of environment, then go ahead and book. There’s so many homeless people & addicts roaming the area…. The hotel itself is clean (I didn’t give the 5 star on cleanliness due to stains on the carpet), and staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming. Expect to hear sirens & helicopters at all hours, people arguing, cars cruising while blasting loud music at 3 AM, cars honking, cars alarms going off….. I felt like we were in Gotham City. All in all, we felt safe in the hotel! The basement parking was a major plus!! Honestly, if they didn’t have the basement parking we would’ve left.

Surprise extra credit card charge upon check in
The major complaint I have is the surprise of finding out that there was a "security charge" of $150.00 per room (and I booked 2) that would be refunded if all was okay. BUT that refund takes 7-10 days. That type of info needs to be disclosed upfront. Based on the area where this property is located, I guess that assume guests are thugs who would steal or damage rooms.

It is always a pleasure to stay at Holiday inn. The only thing I had issues with is the amount of homeless people in the area. They dont bother you but it takes away feom the nice hotel.
