Not worth it
The apartment was brand new and clean. Sadly, though, we weren’t able to enjoy our stay at all. Due to space limitations set by Hotels.com, I can only share the worst of the reasons here.
We reached the building at check-in time, jet-lagged and exhausted. We hadn’t slept for 40 hrs, as we’d traveled on an overnight flight from the US and then taken a train. We weren't able to enter the building. We’d not received the access codes by email yet, and no one was answering at the phone # listed in the booking confirmation. We had to find a place to sit, then waited 45 minutes for the email with the access codes. We tried several times during that period to get someone on the phone, with no success. There isn’t a front desk or office in the building.
When we finally entered our apartment, there was consistent, extremely loud banging that shook the entire unit. We thought there must be construction going on, but when we spoke to somebody, they told us there’s a sports facility in the building. It was impossible to sleep. We bought earplugs the 2nd day, which helped, but did nothing to address the shaking walls caused by the banging.
Worst of all, we did a laundry and were unable to open the washer after the cycle. No amount of reading the manual or Googling helped, and we couldn’t reach anyone by phone, so we had to leave without our clothes. Despite promising to send them when they responded to my email DAYS later, we are still out $300+ worth of clothing, 6 weeks later.
