Very "accommodating" hotel and staff!
Arrived for a 2 night stay. The corridoors leading to my room (143) smelled a bit like stale beer, so maybe a spillage may have occurred prior to my arrival. Other than that, a very pleasant stay. Beds were a little too soft for my liking, so woke each morning with a bit of a stiff back. I was there to deliver a training course for a company in the local area, and they had an issue with a power outage on the Wednesday. The hotel was able to provide a meeting room for us to complete the course, which was excellent! So thank you for that!

Booking with Expedia site totally failed to mention the additional £7 per day parking charge. So the selection based on price was false. Booking directly with the hotel would have avoided this additional cost and would have included Breakfast. The breakfast provided a good selection of options. Staff were very helpful and kind. Would book again but not with expedia.

Disappointing stay this time
A disappointing stay here. My things were removed from the room on one day and things placed in my bag in the office. The systems were being changed over so some bookings were lost and this was ridiculous when a back up of the previous nights bookings should have been available somewhere so that you could see if my room was still booked or whether I had abandoned everything there. The next day, my bed was made but was still quite messy. A few strands of my hair (I hope it was my hair!) was on the bed even after it had been made. Luckily I had a twin room so I just swapped beds but it wasn't a great stay.

We were given a room where the air con wasn’t working. As soon as we walked in the room we just felt the heat. There was a fan on the table which means they knew the air on wasn’t working! We went down to reception and the lady said we will try to get it fixed but can’t promise anything. We will give you a fan! I made it clear that there was no way I was staying in that room so she told us to come back in 20-30 mins for an update. We just went to the bar area and sat there. 20 mins later the lady said we will give you another room as they couldn’t fix the air con. She apologised and gave us a voucher for 2 free drinks. Hotel is more like a 2* as it’s quite old and dated. Bathrooms haven’t been kept well and the sink needs a proper clean.
