Fantastic hotel, great location, i booked 3 rooms for our group, all the same style of room, except mine didn't have any air conditioning at all and we went on the hottest weekend of the year, our friends rooms that were booked as the same standard as ours, did have air conditioning, in my opinion thats poor !! Also the service on the terrace was quite poor, took for ages to get a drink, or food, seemed plenty of staff, but just so so slow, all bar the Spanish manager ? who was superb, but he can only cover so many of the other slow staff

Vintage style v Modern hotels

Pros: Quality of staff and very clean

Cons: Move the smokers station well away from the front entrance to the hotel. Gives a very bad first impression.

Location: Perfect location for commute to city of Birmingham. A golfers paradise

A very good vintage style hotel doing it right. Traditional customer service as opposed to the modern chain type of hotels. A rexlaxing stay with good service from well trained, experience staff.

Good budget hotel with a homely feel

Large room, nice enough staff but awful breakfast

The room was enormous, had a nice powerful shower and comfy bed. The decor throughout is dated and chinzy, pretty standard from Best Westerns though. The staff in general was pleasant. The self service breafast wasn't great - our order for teas and coffees was forgotten, as was my husband's request for scrambled egg and salmon. When it did arrive (for a £2 supplement), the egg was grey and rubbery. I asked for poached eggs which appeared far too quickly to have been made fresh. These too were grey!
