But the hotel is clean, the staff is helpful and attentive, the breakfast is fantastic for the price, and it is located literally 100 feet from the train station. "I don't think I spent enough time in Tomakomai to get a good feeling for the area, I mainly stayed here because it was close to Sapporo and the hotel was within walking distance from Tomakomai train station. The hotel was also very close to a Don Quijote, Lawson, and Seicomart. The only room option available at the time was a smoking room, and while it was clean, the room itself seemed old and like it needed some updating. The view from my room was nice though, and there wasn't a lingering odor of smoke. The general area is quite different to what I was expecting, being quite industrial, but it still felt safe and quiet at night. This is also a port town, seeing multiple fairies coming and going daily, which makes this hotel convenient to people who may be coming into the area by ship."
