Nice but pretty expensive

The hotel is super rad. But the pictures on hotels.com showed a fireplace in the room I booked come to find out that’s just a picture of a different room. That’s like the whole reason I got the room. I was a little bummed but it’s my fault for not verifying before hand. It is super nice out here though

The Madonna Inn offers an undeniably unique and memorable experience, particularly for those seeking a distinctive getaway. Each room is individually themed, so selecting one that suits your preferences is essential. The “Just Heaven” room, with its enchanting design and stunning views of San Luis Obispo, stood out as an exceptional choice. While the accommodations and ambiance of the property are nothing short of remarkable, the dining experience fell noticeably short. We opted to try the steak entrees at the café, but unfortunately, the quality did not justify the cost. To make matters worse, one of us experienced food poisoning following the meal. This led us to avoid breakfast at the property altogether, opting instead for a more reliable option elsewhere. In summary, the Madonna Inn excels in aesthetics, scenery, and creating a unique atmosphere, but the dining options leave much to be desired. Guests would be wise to enjoy the charm of the property while exploring better culinary experiences offsite.

This was on my Wife’s bucket list…. Loved the old school charm and the grounds were amazing! This a throwback hitel and the food was amazing! Make sure you book resercations for dinner and also at the Cafe. Had a blast at the pool with our son! Next time we will try the Spa.

Great hotel bad customer service

I Love the property and am a returning customer since 2009. The hotel is so beautiful and the food is amazing. The bar tenders and restaurant staff need to enhance the level of their customer service otherwise it impacts the hotel’s business unfortunately

“Historic” is a nice way to say old, eclectic, and in need of maintenance. No way to darken room from bright porch lights. Shower head broken. Room amenities not really up to expectations. Beds were worn and not supportive.

Beautiful and unique property

We will definitely be back. We loved everything about it. The restaurants were great (though I wouldn't say the filet was the best I've ever had, as some of the reviews stated). Cute items in the stores. The room was beautiful and clean. We stayed in 141, the Madonna Suite.
