We got in and it seemed the shower wasn’t well clean and there was still a full trash bin from a previous tenant. So… very inattentive cleaning done. Everything else was fine. Soaps in shower were nice. But nothing spectacular about the place. Just overall pretty good.

The water pressure was slow and i felt like ever time i took a shower i was going to fall though i tub squeak a lot. When i check in the receptionist was very welcoming she was only person that ever-said hello to us

Needs some upgrading, but very good hotel

I consider this a hidden jewel in the Arden area. Great breakfast!! Have cookies in the evening and very good coffee. Decent room, but the 'kitchen' was woefully lacking in useable items-like only a spatula for utensils and one small pot with 3 lids.... we found groceries from a previous tenant, and the clock radio/electronics charger was dead and needs to be replaced. We bring a 'picnic' box, so could get by on what we had, tho we did have housekeeping bring up another skillet and bigger pot. Room has seen better days, but was told they are upgrading and refurb. Staff is friendly and does listen when asked a question. Great range of restaurants and grocery shopping in walking distance. I would still stay here, but bring along a few kitchen essentials if you plan to use it.

Great hotel

Super accommodating. Had to check in at 2am. Called ahead and they had everything setup so check in was a breeze. 24 hr front desk staff was very kind (2am) and helpful. Pleasantly surprised by the kitchenette. Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. With a student at Sac State, we visit more frequently. I see this becoming our go to. Great value for the price.

We were happy with our stay here at Larkspur. The room was updated and very clean. I needed more pillows because I had surgery and my head needed to be propped up and the staff was very helpful.

Hotels in Sacramento are primarily located in the downtown area, around the Convention Center, and scattered along highway corridors, leaving East Sacramento and the areas further to its east across the American River a complete hotel desert, so Larkspur Landing is pretty much the only choice if you want to be close to Cal State Sacramento. The exterior looks nice, the interior looks a little dated, but it was warm and inviting when I arrived late at night. The room was spacious and clean despite some obvious signs of age, especially in the bathroom. The main detractors for me were the horrible pillows that offered no support, and an uncomfortable mattress, which made for poor sleep quality. The breakfast was also a bit sad, with only pre-packaged items in refrigerators, just a step or two above vending machine food. For the price and, in my case, the convenience of its location, it served its purpose for a couple nights.

There was an odd smell upon entering the room. The room didn’t have the accompanying couch that is shown to come with the suite accommodations through Expedia. The dishes were left in the dishwasher instead of being cleaned and put away in the cabinets. This LL used to have higher standards but those appear to have slipped since then.
