The parking lot was so full I had to park half a mile away and walk uphill to the lobby. In the dark. There were no entrances to the hotel near where I finally found parking. Even valet parking couldn’t take my car. I’m a heart patient. I got charged $35 when I left the parking lot for the day. I couldn’t make use of the restaurant because of the other functions going on at the hotel. No mini bar. No soda machine. No Eggs Benedict. No nothing. My stay there was a complete nightmare.

The rooms are old for a Fairmount. The pool and gym were excellent. I typically stay here for thanksgiving and have been doing this for the last 6 years and have noticed the hotel needs an upgrade. The valet guys were excellent very friendly and helpful. Ask for a room close to an elevator. I was given a room far away from the elevator #558.

The gym and club were fabulous, and the hotel historic. The sparkling wine at 5 PM was fun. My room was beautifully appointed and if you only used it at night would have been nice. However it was like a cave during the day with only a small skylight like window in the slanted ceiling. The room was so very dark during the day.
