We stayed two nights here and the rooms were clean and within walking distance to a mall. The room was big too. We enjoyed our stay. The only problem we had was the water pressure in the shower sucked.

Wood burning fireplace with log. Room was clean, well stocked. Price was affordable. Staff was extremely friendly & easy to correspond with. Downside;There were two dark spots on the carpet. No coffee maker, far wall wallpaper had some peeling. All in all decent place to stay.

Good value for price -- but a bit loud
The check-in was great -- a very interesting and friendly host! The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. However, I was given a first floor room, so I asked if any second floor rooms were available. Unfortunately, there weren't any. Next time, I will request a room on the second floor because the foot traffic above the room was very loud, intruding upon my sleep. Also, the bathroom was very clean, but there was hardly any water pressure in the shower -- just a trickle of water. Finally, the Pelican Inn faces one of the busiest streets in the area, so traffic is also fairly loud. Overall, good air flow, clean room, friendly staff -- just bring earplugs and request a second-floor room!

The room was very spacious for Monterey. Usually rooms are smaller. Room was clean. Staff was nice. Just out-dated Inn, although I don’t mind it as long as it is clean. Would be nice to have coffee machine though.

Clean, affordable, and conveniently located for exploring Monterey and the surrounding areas. Friendly front desk staff during check-in, and easy drop box check-out. I also felt safe throughout the duration of my stay, both in my room and around the property, which is always comforting as a solo female traveler. The parking lot is kinda tight, so it could definitely be a bit of a challenge if you're driving something with a long wheelbase.

I liked how the property was close driving distance to places and it was pretty quiet and free parking as well! The only thing that sucked was that the parking was so tight/ enclosed so your car could easily get hit in the parking lot.

It was an adorable inn. A bit dated but the staff was awesome and the internet was solid. It’s located close to the mall, theater and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Basic but good for value
The place is very cute outside. Did some upkeep, but still run down inside. Stain on chair at table. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was big. Nothing too bad. Great for value and they were nice there. If youre just looking for a place to sleep, its good. $200 hold.
