Cute lobby and street frontage. Elevator not walking and hallways were very dated and dirty looking. Room and Bathroom were fine though. This hotel is in a great location and suited us for our one night stay in Santa Monica.

The room was smaller than expected but it's good enough since we were only there to sleep. Great location, house keeping was great and fast everyday. Front desk personal was amazing as well. Very helpful with any questions or holding our luggage. I am very pleased with my stay.

Hotel Carmel is a great spot for a quick trip. It's an older building but they do well to keep it up. Will totally stay here again.

The location is perfect. It's an older style building, which suits me. It was clean, convenient, had large closets, and was reasonably priced for the location.

Nice place. Older (so the rooms are kind of small), but it was clean and had very friendly, responsive service. Great location - would definitely stay there again.

THE STAFF THE STAFF THE STAFF!! Everyone was so EXCELLENT!! From the two ladies at the desk in the morning, to the engineer who brought me a fridge and made sure it was plugged in and working, to the lovely housekeeper who gave me the kindest smile in the hallway, you were all EXCEPTIONAL!

Really enjoyed our stay, although lift was broken and we were on the 3rd floor and hotel decor a little tired in front laces. The location to explore Santa Monica was great, staff very friendly and rooms well equipped and big. Big issue was no a/c and not able to open window because of noise.

The hotel is old but the room is renovated and clean. The best of the hotel is close to the beach and a lot of restaurants nearby. Thk to the hotel for letting us early checkin.

Not a good experience for 3 rooms!!!
This really was terrible. Hotel is undergoing renovation. Elevator out of service.I had international guests and 4th floor with no elevator. Contruction work generated oil fumes in the rooms that caused chest, eye and mouth irritations. I am not one to complain but this really was terrible and not acceptable.

I didn’t like the surprise fees in my stay. I ended up paying more than I thought. Hotel is very outdated. Elevator was out of order. Location was what made the experience better.
