If you're looking for a hotel in the middle of all the action in Lisbon, book yourself a room at Hotel Borges Chiado. We arrived in Lisbon by bus and took the local subway which has a stop just below the hotel. We went up the escalator and there was the hotel in the midst of all the action in Lisbon. There is shopping and many restaurants all around the hotel. We stayed in a quadruple room and there was plenty of space for all of us. The room included a large closet and a well-appointed bathroom with shower. The room was very quiet, considering that there was a public square with buskers just outside the front door. The breakfast has lots of food to choose from and it was delicious. There are many restaurants very near the hotel so you can get your fix for befana or pastel de Nata within short walking distance. The hotel was also within walking distance to many historical locations in Lisbon.

Aside from the young blonde girl and middle age lady at the front desk(night shift) rolling their eyes at us when we asked him a question about breakfast, our bathroom was rundown and definitely needed a facelift. The vanity looks like it was old wood repainted several times from the water stains, the shower door went in - not out. The shower glass wall was coming off the tray, causing the water to flood over by the toilet. The light sconces on the walls look like they were falling off and crooked. As for the location, yes, it’s in happening area, but if you are not familiar with Lisbon and you were looking for your hotel even with navigation it could be hard to locate due to the huge umbrellas that are placed outside for for dining covering the sign. This hotel is not directly on the street where there are cars passing by.

Apartment was great and in ideal area close to everything. Great view and nicely decorated. Bedrooms could use AC that worked and hooks on the walls for towels and jackets If you stay make sure you complete check-in process prior to stay to get access code. ( no front desk) We had received check-in email after travel began that went to junk mail. It was resolved in about an hour but delayed things.

Wifi was terrible. Brought it to their attention and basically just got a thats how it is...i wouldnt stay here again nor suggest to anyone. I also used the gym and it was very dirty and water on floor and mildew on some of the equipment and walls...Id say thats a haalth hazard.

Great stay at this hotel! We loved that we were within walking distance of most sites, easy access for Uber and walkable to train station. Buffet breakfast included which was a great way to start our day. Would definitely recommend staying here.
