I have been to many riu's this feels more run down a bit. Also rooms have no bathrub, overal the space is getting old, the service is amazing as always but the place needs to get renovated.i was tranfered to Riu palace kulkulcan which was absolutely beautiful, its almost brand new its about 2 years old, I think its a bit more expensive, but for me its was an even exchange.

Checkin staff was efficient and effective.Elevators and entrance handles to restaurants need sanitizing.The over the top concept needs revamping. Air conditioning units need sanitizing because the room smells of mildew/mold which is different than humid.Hotel furniture needs modernizing. The outside colonial look is beautiful and unlike any other.I loved the spa cold jacuzzi and decor was in very good taste.The beach small but beautiful and walking distance from a better beach.The 24 hour snak and delicatessen great idea; however, to make a sack lunch you neet a sack and wax paper. The freshness of the food was excellent.The pools and built in entertainment was cool.

The staff was amazing! Johnny with the mustache made the events so much fun! The swim up bar David and July was so friendly and never kept us waiting! The staff made us feel like they had known us forever always so kind and fun to be around!
