The staff was super friendly and helpful. They made my stay at the hotel worth it. I tried to have a shower in the evening but there wasn't any hot water so for this reason I'm not sure I'd want to stay here again. I liked the little center on each floor where you can make a cup of tea, etc.

Stayed for one night before a Viking cruise due to easy walking proximity to dock ( as well as lots of sights in Amsterdam)..their restaurant was a WONDERFUL choice for dinner after a long day of re- exploring the city ...as for a room facing the water....much prettier views!

Great desk staff who were always friendly. Restaurant was terrible and service was very slow. We rented bikes from the desk so that was a great way to get around.

To be honest, this is an amazing property to stay at! Former Dutch military base, that has been turned into a hotel. This hotel is a fairly standard regarding its size and setup, BUT there are a lot of perks to this hotel! Perks: - brewery/restaurant at this hotel give you easy social and food options without leaving the building. - quiet and safe area as across the road is an active military base. this being said, it is a bit further than the more popular areas of town, but it is nice to come back to a quiet neighborhood after being surrounded by people in the streets/canals all day long. - the service is awesome. they provide luggage holds before/after your reservations so you don't need to worry about lugging your luggage all over the cobblestone streets of Amsterdam. The only con I felt was that I was attacked by small mosquitoes at night. Ended up leaving with 12 bites over a couple of nights stay, but overall, I would definitely return for another stay.

When I first arrived and went to my room it is not what I expected. That room was quite small and warm. Thankfully there were windows to open to let in fresh air. I would not stay during the warmer months with no AC. It is a brewery so there were loud guests outside until quite late but I put in ear plugs. Easy walking distance from downtown area. The breakfast was extra, but quite tasty. The view from the breakfast area was nice. I would stay again as long as it was during cooler months.

Very interesting development or rather redeployment from former Navy base. Enjoyed my stay very much and I would recommend this place for people who want something different than a typical city hotel.

For a quick overnight stay in Amsterdam this was ideal. Quiet part of the City, 20 minute walk from Central Station across the canals, pleasant walk. Functional room overlooking the water, tea coffee and carafes of water available just outside the room which was nice. Clean bright room, usual toiletries. Shower ok. Perfect for a budget break.

Fantastic property and location. Will definitely stay again. Only complaint is how slow the service was in the restaurant. We would have had more drinks if the service had been better. I dont think it was a cultural thing as didnt experience it in other Amsterdam restaurants. Despite this, I highly recommend this place.

Very small single room that might not have worked had I had more luggage or stayed longer. Comfortable bed and good bathroom/shower. Delightful location, especially in warm weather as it backs onto a swimming/beach area. Very good restaurant. Wonderful staff. No a/c and pretty pathetic fan.
