The Hyatt Regency was in a great location in Amsterdam and easily accessible to nearby attractions such as the Rijks Museum and Anne Frank House. Staff were very professional and accommodating. Rooms were well-appointed, comfortable, and spacious. Amenities such as shampoo, body wash, and conditioner were top quality.

The property itself was good. The staff generally were extremely helpful in both the restaurant and front desk. The breakfast food was of excellent quality and the rooms were of a good standard. However, there was a big let down when it came to room service. By this I do not refer to food delivered to the room. It was a question of hygiene and what would be expected. I stayed for a total of 4 days and on 3 of those my room was not serviced to the extent that the waste bin was overflowing, the bed left untouched, towels not replaced and the floor left uncleaned. I spoke to the duty manager who, of course apologised profusely, and confirmed that he would take the matter up at his morning management meeting. I did ask to be kept abreast and he promised to do so. He made no contact but I suspect the half bottle of wine left on the dressing table was by way of saying sorry. Unfortunately, the same situation arose the following day leading me to speak with the duty manager on that day. The conversation ended with him saying that he would look into making some adjustment to the price paid. Sad to say but, he never came back to me nor did he arrange to make a gesture of some recompense. This was not something to be expected of a first class hotel and I would be ashamed if I had been responsible for delivering such a poor level of service.

Service at the front desk was superior. Unusually good! That said the property needed some maintenance. Our room was fairly expensive ($300 ) and i expected more. Temp control did not work. I called for help and they said they would send someone. They came the next day. The curtains in our room were ripped and did not close. We called and they did fix it. Carpet on the 5th floor was stained. Disappointing.

Good stay
All in all we had a good stay . Housekeeping was a bit so-so . Not enough towels were given and had to call for towels everyday . We are vegetarian. There were not many options for breakfast. We requested for veg baked beans on the first day of our stay . The breakfast in charge told us that he would organize it but till our last day of stay we never got it . Location is very good . Reception staff were very friendly and helpful!!

Stayed three nights. Room was comfortable and clean. Daily cleaning was done well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is not right in the tourist area, but is easily reached within a few minutes. The tram is right outside the hotel, and the metro is a block away. Both are very easy to understand and navigate. The hotel restaurant is good, but limited. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety. I liked the location and ease of getting around. Would definitely stay again. (American, had no issues with language and was easily able to do what we wanted from the hotel)
