great hotel at a great spot. you can get around the city super easy and very close to the Amsterdam Central train station. A lot of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.

This was a great place to stay for a quick, two night stay in Amsterdam. A quick walk from the train station with spacious room and comfortable bed. The room could have been cleaner (a few hairs in the shower) but nothing major. We did have two inconveniences while staying, the first day the water was turned off all day due to some road work. Out of the hotels power but a bit inconvenient. Second was the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. Overall would recommend for ease, and first time visitors.

I don’t recommend
The room was so small more like a closet. The shabby decor included a tiny wooden, dilapidated desk, rickety wooden chair and coat rack which made it difficult to get into suitcases, dress, etc. Clean but not comfortable nor pleasant.

Great location from train station and public transit. Close enough to main sites to walk everywhere. Fun hotel with some odd/great features. Has a lift and safe luggage storage.

While i could've asked for a different room, i decided to deal with the smell of raw sewage for the short time I actually stayed in the room. Great staff/location, but something should be done with sewer issue.

The rooms smelled interesting and I couldn't tell if it was the room or the bathroom. My friend said that in her room her sheets were dirty, and she was also upset with the cleanliness of her bathroom. There are no refrigerators, and even though it has an elevator there are some rooms you still have to walk up or down a flight (if you intend to have bulky or heavy luggage. Staff was friendly/helpful, but unfortunately was not able to check us in due to some system failure. Great feature is that it's close to the main train station and decently central in Amsterdam, but you will walk past the entrance it's a small "door" with a sign above it between a busy business street.

Great location near Amsterdam Centraal. Limited amenities. Suite has large room, comfy king bed, large shower. Terrace overlooking Damrak. Walls were painted black, so very limited lighting, even with full window light. Terrace could use cleaning.

Location is great but hotel is undesirable. You are paying for the location not accommodation. The room overall spacious. Walls are thin so you hear next door. The bathroom is absolutely awful. Teeny tiny. No mirror in the room to use when bathroom is occupied. The lighting in the room is awful. Don’t bring big suitcases if staying here. Elevators are very small.

A strange hotel, old building, odd shaped rooms. I had to pay £280 for one night to stay here and it was just not good value. They say each room is designed like a super model and each room has its own unique design, my room was a small room that was entirely white. Bed against the wall, strange pokey small bathroom with a tiny little shower in the corner. No super model design there, not sure why they even mentioned it. That said, the room had good air conditioning, the shower worked well and the bed was surprisngly comfortable, even if it wasn't quite level and was up against a window. All in all, a strange little place, but for £280 a night, id expect a lot more.

The location was brilliant - the room was great, overlooking the main street. Check in was very simple - biggest shout out to the night staff who put up with us coming home in some hysterical form or another. On the whole a great place to stay and the beds were super comfy - R205

We had a great stay at the Hotel Exchange. The Naked Emperor room with the camera obscura effect was really cool! I would definitely recommend it.
