I stayed in the second building wich is just footsteps from the main building where reception is (not an issue at all). Room 503 is awesome, sleeps three (single beds) with plenty of room. This room even has a balcony that makes the dam square experience even more fun!

The hotel is in a great area if you want to really absorb Amsterdam. Super close to nightlife, and not a bad walk to the museums (25 minutes). Two things to know ahead of time: 1. Uber is complicated in that area because the roads are so tiny. Uber will "assign" your pick-up spot, which can be difficult to find (a little stressful). 2. The stairs in the hotel are no joke, and there is no elevator. I was on the 4th floor and hated having to go back to the room. Try to get a room on the lower floors.

Basic but nice
Nice and clean room with comfy beds. Staff were friendly. Right on a busy street so there was lots of noise and the bathroom was tiny. Good for a short stay if you want a basic room.

Perfect location for anyone who wants convenience, right in the middle of everything. 10/15 min walk from central station, tram stops very close. All other reviews are right about the stairs, quite steep, but not an issue for us. No lift available. Beds very comfy, if you have the windows open it can be quite loud. Would definitely stay again.

A real gem at a central location
This is hands down the best of Amsterdam's "budget" hotels. Location is amazing, rooms are clean and well equipped and staff are super friendly and helpful.

Pictures don’t justify the reality. No elevators. If you have a large suitcase climbing steep and narrow stairs to the 3rd level is a nightmare. Rooms are extra small and toilet/bathroom is the smallest one can ever imagine. Sitting on the toilet you will bang your knees on wall in from if you are 5’ 9” or taller ! Also , the street below has loud noise of party goers ALL NIGHT LONG. Couldn’t sleep at all. Worst property ever!

It is an old building so be prepared to carry your luggage up many narrow flights of stairs depending on which level your room is on. It is also in the touristy area and food options open late so you will hear the liveliness of the people on the street while falling asleep. I was tired from walking everyday exploring so it didn’t bother me. I fell asleep quickly. All that aside, the hotel staff are friendly, the hotel is very conveniently located and walkable to many things. I would consider staying here again next time I’m in Amsterdam. Love the city and the friendly people!
