There is only ony one reason to stay here, location. I don’t know if it was typical lack of Dutch hospitality, but front desk could learn some manners. Our room was so tiny, there was barely any room around the bed. Also, google map shows this hotel as 4 stars, yet they don’t have a technician on demand. We had a non-working A/C for the whole weekend. The only highlight was the young men in the restaurant kindly great us and treated well.

Second time I’ve stopped at this hotel and it won’t be the last. Friendly helpful staff from start to finish, we arrived early and staff took our bags and even phoned us when our room was ready whilst we were out exploring the city. When we arrived back, our bags were already in our room for us. Clean Hotel, Absolutely perfect location right in Dam Square as a centre point, a tram stop right outside and a convenient supermarket next door but one to the hotel itself. Great hotel to complement a great trip.

Property is in a great location, very close to Dam Square, canals and lots of restaurants in the area. The restaurant in the hotel, Hulscher’s is very good with excellent service. The room we booked was large and very comfortable. About a half hour walk to Riks and Van Gogh Museums. Would high recommend this property.

The staff were always very helpful and very well mannered and friendly and welcoming. Their breakfast was well presented and lots of variety of choice. The rooms were very presentable and well cleaned every day with changed bedding and fresh towels. We would like to come here again in the future. The hotel is place where it is easy for walking distance to most of the sites and shops and museums. And has a regular tram service outside on the door step. Very easy to get to all the attractions.

Lovely and unusual room on the 5th floor. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant was a treat. Don’t miss the breakfast! Or the bar. Tram was across the street and another line a block away.

Wonderful Hotel
The Reception Staff were so helpful and friendly at this wonderful hotel. The hotel is very central so easy to explore Amsterdam. The rooms at the front are just a little noisy but at least you can open the windows for fresh air. The Bar & Restaurant are very good & can recommend the breakfasts. The Dinner Menu is a little limited, but no worries as there are plenty of other options to choose from. Wonderful Hotel a mixture of Old & Modern.

Night stay in Amsterdam
Very much liked the one night stay at de Port van Cleve. Convient to walk to the main sites of interest. Very nice room. Only had breakfast at their restaurant. Just paid off menu instead of 20Euros for breakfast buffet. We go to Amsterdam annually so I would stay there again. One suggestion if arriving by train into Amsterdam Ceentral, the walk is approx 15 minutes, which is ok, but with crowds of people on the sidewalks while dragging your luggage, it's hectic. Best to check how to catch a steet car which stops just in front on the hotel. That will also help you out for the rest of your visit.
